This may be one of the greatest quotes ion the history of the Planet. :coffee: We are going to miss this guy. Also, i won't know which Mid America conference basketball teams to bet on tonight.

Banned? Why no trip to the Assclown Asylum? IMO, we took the wrong approach with him. If we'd ridden him less hard and fostered the delusion that he wasn't totally disliked, we could have collected more comic pearls of narcisistic hilarity.

I kind of wanted to see what exploits he was going to tell us about next.

I was wondering how he got you to play along that he real . Not a joke account . That loved making shit up.about his life

Sebastian Inlet, the shark capital of America- Fished it many times from 80-83

Caught a big bull shark there from shore in 82, she swallowed the hook and I fought her for hours...A large crowd gathered and when I finally got her to shore she was in bad shape, she wasn't going to make it so to the amazement of the crowd I took out my knife, sliced her open and a dozen pups swam out of her- No worse for the wear

ROFLROFLROFLROFLROFLROFLROFLROFLROFL I can't even......No, just no.

I may have skipped over chunks that made it more obvious he was a fugazi, but he posted photobocket album (he just meant to show one picture, but I clicked through the album), that showed pics of his hot daughter vacationing in Thailand (price signs were in bhats), lots of pics around where he lived, it had videos of horse races on tv while he was clearly in the background talking about gambling issues.

I didn't find it that implausible that he was someone in his fifties with some money (partially inherited, maybe), who had worked at an 80K union job and done decently as a bookie. The things he said he had in his life (BMW, travel, house in Florida, having had some amateur fights in the early 80's) didn't seem that far fetched to me.

The stories about the naked girl walking up to him on the beach might have been embellished, but I have hot girl stories from when I was in my 20s.

What hilariously stood out wasn't that the things he had in his life weren't possibly true, but how insanely self-obsessed and narcisissistic he was to be continuously spewing about it.

He made one reference in the Aperp thread about Hernandez reminding him of a boxer he sparred with, which was pushing it, but maybe that guy spiraled downhill on drogs and shot some people - I didn't check. Then, he somehow used that as an excuse to post a pic of himself on the beach in 1985 - WTF?

I don't doubt that the pic was him and I think my pics from 30 years ago look better and could give his pics a good fight. What had me LMAO is that he was posting them and I was curious to see what self-absorbed, half-assed tales of grandeur would come next. I get that he was disrupting the board, but he would have at least been an entertaining addition to the Asylum.

Imagine the classic conversations that could go down between him, Dolphin22 and NEM.

Marino and Manning were/are complete passing machines. Both are record holders. Huge yards, TD's and so on. Both however are considered to be playoff choke artists. Or even can't make to the playoffs.

Elway and Brady are thought of as winners. They don't hold the records necessarily, but they make it to the Super Bowl and win.

Manning is to Brady as Marino is to Elway.

I guess I thought of Terrell Davis as a winner. Not so much Elway. Marino put up big numbers on some really mediocre to bad teams.

:shrug_n:

That one was probably a tall tale, and the one where he played Cyrano and won over his buddy's girlfriend for him. He clearly didn't have the verbal skills to do that. He was an 'Amature' boxer who couldn't spell the word Amateur.

But, c'mon, he was entertaining. Wouldn't it have been fun not to blow him up and see what came next? And, if Peyton gets throttled on Sunday, it would have been interesting to see if he found his way back here after that.

How can they...aren't they all banned?

That's my point. Imagine the mind bending side splitting $hit that would be going down if they weren't.

The Sheriff was legit in his stories, The scenario posted below is pretty spot on.

the Boxer did time got out and was busted again breaking into houses. his name was Ayyaya or something like that I believe, I remember him being a bad man. This is common among "rocky Club fighter rushed up to take beating to pad the starts of the Buster Douglas types to get them a shot quicker - Remember Peter McNealy, rumor is he had his jaw busted in my town by a sparring partner in a bar- and Peter ended up in Jail.

his stories while full of grandeur were possible - I swear we all have experiences that seem too good to be true, fabricated, that are not - I have many.

So, why is he banned? I know he was behind more hijackings than Khadaffi, but he wasn't malicious, just hilariously full of himself.

When he started describing the area I live as accurately as he did is when I thought this guy is probably for real in his stories. I mean, aside from the whole shark pups things. I HATED him at first and wanted him gone but he kinda grew on me. I enjoyed what he added here for the last week but I understand the Mods decision. I was hoping on getting on getting some horse betting tips from him though... :)

He made a number of truly tasteless comments in his deluge of posts and I think the mods cut him a lot of slack to be honest. I know some of his posts got mod edited.

The marathon bombing one was the only post I saw that I thought came close to crossing a line.

I must have missed what he said to get banned.

Since the mods have a great track record, like BB, they're entitled to a questionable call. I don't think Sheriff should have been banned.

It would be funny to have had a "Legend of the Sheriff #18" thread where we pasted all his comments in one place and parodied and played with him there - in the Asylum, if necessary. But, I didn't even think the Asylum was necessary yet.

It is such a hard line to walk, especially as regular members here all react differently. We have a few posters that have not been around simply because of this guy and maybe the lack of action on him. I don't know.

In general, I like to be more permissive of trolls, but I think as a group, we need to figure out where we want the lines to be while still keeping the board fun and keeping the football threads on topic.
