maybe he told curran before the season that if xyz would happen,it was a wrap and curran sat on it until that situation occurred.
i mean,i can't ignore the fact he and curran were/are tight. maybe it's coincidence but it's TOO neat.

Anyone that's blind you mean.

Answer this:

Why would Mayo wait until the Patriots were officially eliminated from the playoffs in Week 14, with a 3-10 record to leak to Curran that after the Germany game the Krafts were ready to part ways with Bill?
Because that's when Kraft told him.

How would Mayo even know the Krafts were ready to part ways with Bill after the Germany game?
Because they told him.

Assuming they told Mayo, wouldn't it be obvious to the Krafts who leaked the information? Do you think the Krafts would be just fine with such sensitive information being leaked w/o their approval? That's one hell of a risk to take given the downside.
I have no doubt that when Curran was flailing about, he got some reassurances from Kraft himself, yes. Did he know or notice? Maybe. Maybe he ok'd it. That doesn't count the entire year of leaks before that, of course. Those were Mayo.

Wouldn't the leaking of this information put Mayo's future job in peril, given that the teams performance was already enough to get rid of Bill? What was his upside?
Not if Kraft had already made his decision and was ok with it.

In the meantime, despite the season being lost, Mayo continued to have his defensive players ball out
Yeah, his playcalling was amazing. Oh wait.

Your babbling is monumentally ilogical, unsound, ridiculous, and flat out bat shit crazy.
Yawners. Put me on ignore then, and continue your cross-posting on that site you supposedly hate.

So Mayo predicted this would all happen before the season? Come on.

Or maybe the Krafts orchestrated these leaks to prepare the fans for the release of Bill. Doesn't that make more sense? Look at the timing of all these leaks and what was happening at the time. There was zero benefit to Mayo from these leaks given he already was in line for the gig per his contract. All he needed to do was sit back and let it play out.

that's a good point. more likely to have been kraft.
i hate this whole thing. deeply.

So now you're saying that Kraft blessed these leaks. So it was Kraft that leaked it. We agree.

I am willing to give Mayo a chance. I do think the players respond to him because he has been a former player. Perhaps he ends up being in the Dan Campbell mold.

I am really interested in who the GM will be. I have always thought that Matt Groh will just assume the position but has anyone heard anything?

Curran said it would be Elliot Wolf.

And Mayo might be great - let's hope so.

if the players are in that good, I will never root for the pats to lose. I hope its the right move and I'm ready for 2024!!

Ok. I am fine with Wolf. What do you think?
I think anyone's going to have a difficult time with the monetary constraints they're going to be under.
But he's as fine a choice as anyone, no problems with it. No problems with Mayo either, really - we knew he was going to be the coach at some point last year.

Mayo will have his presser soon so maybe we get an inkling how he will proceed.
I'm beginning to think Matt Groh is there to serve as the Kraft's personal IT & support for what's going on in personnel regarding contracts, money spent, money needed and budget.
An eye in the sky for the Krafts more than a legit talent evaluating GM.

Wolf should be good. I mean he knows the players - their strengths and weaknesses on the field, he knows what is needed - so he should continue on just fine.
Mayo I'm more reluctant about bc of his inexperience & total lack of training in coaching offense. I'd have preferred an offensive minded head coach with experience outside
the 4 walls of Gillette. Mayo can satisfy those needs by hiring and OC and a DC who brings those things.

Yeah, O'Brien staying is sort of a tossup. And a lot of it comes down to his own decision.

This is my concern as well. I really wanted an offensive minded HC but if I was thinking this morning that Kraft has only hired defensive minded HCs - Parcells, Carroll, BB and now Mayo. He must feel more comfortable with that type of HC for some reason.
