There's always some that agree. That doesn't mean they're right. In fact the ones that did are the ones that misread or twists posts to a greater or lesser degree. So of course they don't like being called on it. It's called being defensive.

Well, it looks to me that it went awry. At first it had all the potential of a calling out party or flame war. It also appears to have evolved or diverged from the starting topic.

Did you ever think that could be because the few people ( 1 or 2) that use strawman FREQUENTLY and CONSISTENTLY need to start reading what a person's argument actually is instead of twisting it all around to something it wasn't. That is just as annoying.

So it's like saying the abusers of strawmen arguments are entitled to a free ride and no one has any rights to point it out.
