Week 3, 2020 - Raiders @Patriots

Las Vegas was controlling the LOS early on, but someone lit a torch under the asses of the front lines and they came out firing. McDaniels play calling was week in the 1st quarter, but he found the soft spots and exploited the hell out of them. Great game by the Pats backs... Michel was resurrected and Burkhead was amazing. Can't wait to get JW back. Harry wasn't stellar, but contributed... Cam should have gone to him when he was wide open in the 4th. Overall an impressive win against a tough team.

The crowd sounded really into it today.

Harris can return. Will BB chance it moving JJ Taylor down to PS .

LOL Romo was joking about that too.

I like it when the QB doesn't have to have a great game and the Pats win anyway. Mayock's influence really shows on how the Raiders play (type of players they have). They're going to be a problem to handle as long as he's there.

Good win today. A lot better to be 2-1 than 1-2 heading into the KC game.

Two observations from today.

Anyone still think they should trade Thuney?

Anyone still think Burkhead is superfluous?

They both had good games today. If you could get a legit speed threat wr on a rookie deal and better than a 3, I would seriously consider trading Thuney. As far as Burkhead, let's see if he can last 3 more games.

I think they do need a big target. A WR that can stretch the field . Majority of Newton competitions went to RBs on screens or wheel routes

Burkhead is good when he can stay healthy, thats always been the issue. But yeah he had a game today for sure, so did the defense, good come back from last week.

Wondering how much of that was due to what Romo described as a young, fast secondary? Then add Harry and Jules being banged up. Can't remember the last time they ran so many screens. And that was a huge staple for many years.

One of the things I always liked about Bill and I’m sure the players really appreciate it is what he said in the post game press conference today which he has done frequently before. He was asked about the Raiders going down the field and scoring the TD before half time. He said straight away that it was down to bad coaching on his part. No mention of the defence not containing them or any blame laid etc. His players have to really appreciate that, the way he doesn’t throw them under the bus.

And shout out to Cam, again supporting Harry in his presser. Saying how proud he is of his growth and all the things he does aside from catching and how difficult it is being a young receiver.

I didn’t see the WRs getting much separation . BB started using RBs to get open in space. Raiders just couldn’t stop them all game.
If They do trade Thuney . I hope it for A WR & pick

He's good, but, as fragile as anyone here...truth.

I'm still not sold on Fig Newton. He will never be a long term solution. But, he signed for cheap, so, roll with it for now.

Big plaudits have to be given to Smokin' Joe Thuney for the job he did at centre, standing in for Dirty Dave. That is not an easy thing to do, centre is such a specialist position and a critical one. Cam said there were no issues, not one bungled snap, no communication issues etc.

That was an ugly slugfest early but little JJTaylor gave us a jolt and someone spoke effectively to our OL. Dietrich Wise, Wino, DMac and JJones rose up on D. From there on, it was smooth sailing and I so wish I could have seen John Gruden's teeth-gnashing face in the last 10 minutes. BB's defense did a good job of pointing out all the Raiders' flaws on offense for other teams to study. Good win and the team learned a lot about itself yesterday.
