The Antonio Brown situation continues to escalate...

Report: Raiders plan to suspend Antonio Brown

The drama surrounding Antonio Brown does not appear to have an end.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Brown and General Manager Mike Mayock “got into it” at practice on Wednesday and the team is planning to suspend Brown as a result.

Brown posted to social media a letter from the G.M. informing him that he’d be fined for missing a practice and a walkthrough last month. That came after a summer that saw Brown off the field as he dealt with frostbitten feet and an ultimately futile bid to continue wearing a helmet that the NFL would not allow him to wear.

During that process, Mayock said that Brown had to decide if he was all in with the team or not. It seemed for a time that the Raiders got the answer they wanted and Mayock recently told NBCSportsBayArea’s Raiders Insider podcast that “it’s been great since then” with Brown.”

Per Schefter, posting the letter changed that and touched off another chapter in a long-running saga.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the argument between Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown and General Manager Mike Mayock didn’t get physical, but it included the threat.

Rapoport said that after screaming at each other Brown told Mayock that he’d hit him in the face, then punted a nearby football and said “Fine me for that.”

Someone told me that a timeline has been posted for his erratic behavior and it really took off after getting concussed by Burfict. Interesting theory because this is going beyond Diva.

Letters like that are meant to be private. AB decided he'd seek sympathy and fan support by posting the letter and his response to it on social media.
I'm sure Mayock didn't want that.

It reminds me of the times AB has posted Steeler locker room videos on social media. Something's definitely not right with his sense of propriety.

guy signs a 30 million dollar contract, flips out over like 30k in fines? what a headcase...






think the raiders would flip him for a 4th? and that he'd re-do his contract to a one year prove it deal? If so the raiders should give 1 patriot place a call...

No thank you. Although the rest of the NFL would have a turd if AB signed with the Pats and behaved himself. I wouldn't risk it though.

Man, Brown is good, but remember, no matter how pretty she is, it doesn't matter if she is batshit crazy.

According to someone who reviewed Antonio Brown’s contract, there is standard default language on the guarantees. Nothing protects him from a suspension or from being cut for conduct detrimental to the team. So $30M is in the balance as the team mulls discipline.

I actually am starting to feel sorry for AB because the suspicion is he's not right in the noggin. Whether it's the Burfict hit or it's a Brandon Marshall like case with BPD, but it's very abnormal behaviour. He needs help.

Of course, he could just be a total d**khead, but something doesn't seem right.
