One of the country artists I like is Joey + Rory. If you haven't heard, Joey had cancer last year. Sadly it returned this year and returned terminal. Earlier they stopped all treatments. What they said when they did was the amazing part. It wasn't so she was going home to die, but going home to live. They have a one year old with down syndrome and two children by another relationship Rory had before. One of their latest blogs is amazing.

Luckily, she is a badass and is now one year cancer free.

My wife had a mastectomy last year.

My wife had stage 3....dbl mastectomy....chemo.....radiation......now the pills for 10 years. Her form of ca. Has,a 62% recurrence rate,within 5 years.......it's been 3.5 years so far.....still kicking ass
