i love it.
a one-gap DE whose game (and sacks) are predicated by the colts being so far ahead, that the opposing offense is forced to pass a lot.
when those teams that can limit the colts offense, get the lead and start running, freeney virtually disappears (especially in the playoffs).
2-gap richard seymour is the anchor of a patriots run defense that, with the exception of the 1st 10 games of 2005 (with brown/beisel at IL, duane :Eason: starks in the secondary, rodney gone and seymour missed about 5 games), is one of the more dominant in the league.
some colts fans will point to seymours lack of stats, but there's a good reason for it. even though richard isn't allowed to simply rush the QB, he still gets double and triple teamed, which limits his sacks, but enables vrable, mcginnest, etc. to get to the QB.
as for the lack of monster "tackles made" stats, it's kind of hard for richard to rack up monster stats when opposing offenses refuse to run in his general direction.
bottom line: richard seymour is the anchor of the defensive line of one of the best run defenses in the NFL.
dwight freeney is a pass rushing specialist who, when it comes to smashmouth football, might as well be on the bench.
freeney would be an OLB on the patriots.
and the funny part is polian will pay him.
then the colts will be able to lay claim to two of the most overrated and overpaid players in football.
dwight freeney will become the NFL's defensive version of perfect peyton. ROFL   ROFL
