Grif Whalen signed by the Patriots

Regarding punt returners. Recent events show that attempting to return punts by the Pats results in too many fumbles or injuries to key players. Instead of picking up yet another risky FA, what if the Pats were to rush the whole team on punts and go for a block? If it doesn't happen, at least no fumble/injury. Just sayin'.

but now you run the chance of roughing/running into the kicker. that could also get ugly

Brilliant. Why don't teams try this once in a while?

Wasn't Hester cut because he didn't make the fair catch that led to the safety?

I see now, give up safeties instead of TDs. That does make sense. :coffee:

The Whalen signing is a clear signal to the Jets...
