Lawyer Advice

4 words.

Board of Bar Overseers

It's the lawyer police. Each State has this.

Those 4 words are like Kryptonite to shady lawyers.

Call leave a message again and the message is simply BBO.

I guarantee you get a call back within 1/2 hour.

Actually I beat you but PFL beat me sooooo

I'm not a lawyer but I insure them. I would do as PFL said and contact the bar.

In MA, they have the board of bar overseers where you can submit complaints against attorneys. Most bar associations that I am familiar with have them.

Would she have anything on him for E&O?

only if he made an error that caused a loss. But from what she has said so far, I don't think that's the case. If she makes a complaint to the bar, that would be submitted to the malpractice carrier though because most of the policies cover disciplinary complaints.

So... I had called yesterday at 10am. Never got a call back.

Just called and actually got to talk to the assistant because she actually answered the phone.

Give her my name and tell her I talked to her back in November and she told me that the state was sending something out within the week and it's been three months. She puts me on hold so she can grab my file. Comes back... Yes, we got that paperwork. Can you come in next week.

So exactly how long have they had this fricken paperwork???????????? Were they ever planning on fricken calling me??????? I have never been so fricken happy to be PMSing than I will be when I meet with them on Tuesday.

Oh, and for the record... In IL it's not the BBO, it's the ARDC. Yes, I checked. And yes, it will be coming up during our meeting on Tuesday.

Just remeber to open up the conversation with a nice joke. That should set the tone for how the conversation will be going.
