I have seen this kind of thread on a bunch of different forums and have never seen it tried here. Usually called a "statement" or "word association" thread they can sometimes go on for months on a busy forum.
If you've never seen one the idea is simple. I start with a phrase or a name and you reply back with whatever pops into your head - related directly or indirectly in some way to the previous statement, name, word or phrase and just see where it goes. It's kind of like the digital version of passing a story around a campfire and having it come out altogether different.
There are no rules, just basic stream of consciousness.
I'll start with something simple and we'll work our way into it.
