Week 4 Games Thread

Notes from before the Sea-Lions game are especially interesting now for how bad the game projected to be from an execution pov. Another lousy game to watch with poor execution all around, coaches, players and refs.

  • Seattle has just two offensive plays that have gone for 25 yards or longer, tied with San Francisco for the fewest in the league.
  • Detroit has allowed five receptions and a touchdown to all three starting tight ends they’ve faced so far.
  • The Seahawks are tied with the Bears and Rams for fewest offensive touchdowns at four.
  • The Lions are allowing 5.3 red zone trips per game, most in the league.
  • Detroit has just two runs of 10 yards or longer the season, last in the league.
  • Matt Stafford on third down this season is 14-29 for 144 yards with no touchdowns and four interceptions.
  • Stafford has attempted just 12 passes of 15 or more yards downfield, which ranks 23rd in the league. He ranked eighth in the league on such attempts last year with 108.
  • Detroit is averaging just 17 rush attempts and 45 yards on the ground per game, both the lowest in the league.
  • TE Ebron leads all tight ends in routes run at 38.3 per game and is just one of four tight ends to be a top-12 scorer every week so far this season.
  • TRiddick is the current RB11 overall, but of his 15-144-1 receiving line, 13-116-1 have come in the fourth quarter. He's not part of the base offense yet.

Forget the call, Johnson cannot FUMBLE there. Reminded me of Dez last year trying to score vs GB and then losing the ball for an incompletion. Just put two hands on the ball and go down. There was just 2 to go. Better not to score there and waste clock and then punch it in.

NFL really needs to be able to REVIEW every play in the last two minutes.

Sometime today, I'm expecting an ESPN expose on Patriots' transgressions in order to distract people from incompetent NFL referees.
