Patriots vs. Cardinals: Official Game Thread

Gost has never really been asked to make the A.V. type kicks to win games. He has failed on the 2 or 3 he has been asked to make.

Since when do the pats stop trying to score and play for the f/g with lots of time left. Not their M.O. in the past. It lost them this game.

Because thats what you do....YOu run 3 times there and kick a fg....that is what you do...they failed.

Really, he got into kicking distance by himself? Oh wait no, he's just a kicker. Please don't apologize for him. That was a choke of a kick. It had NO chance ever, he choked plain and simple. He's probably tell you the same thing.

Shades of Cundiff. Some help, some hurt.

But the real question is why it had to come down to miracle against this team in the first place.

terrible all around, coaching horrible as well, a sweep on 3rd and 6 which goes for a 9 yard loss and keeps us out of FG range

Just about everyone choked today, no?

I have no idea why we settled for a kick that long with a minute on the clock but whatever.

That whole game was a frigging offensive meltdown anyway.

Yes.

The concerns about the O line are real. they can't give Brady the protection heed needs when they go against a team with a strong pass rush.

And Brady, as usual, turns into a pile of quivering sh1t when he gets knocked down a few times.

Because sometimes thats how it goes thats why and when you get em, you take it, and they failed....we had that game and botched it.

Bullshit, sometimes it comes down to that, and he freaking choked....we had that game, period....

The offense sucked today, by and large. They didn't play well until the mid 4th quarter.

The loss isn't on Ghost; a 42 yarder isn't an automatic. The loss is on the offense, particularly the line, but the offense in general.

Funny that pile of quivering shit took the team down the field and got it in position to win at the end. How about we stop calling run plays on 3rd and 7 or doing tosses on second and long.

No the loss is missing a kick at the end....we used to win those games...Sometimes you do not win 40-3....;sometimes you have to grind it out...no excuse for missing that....

I disagree.

If you have a chip shot maybe. But not from that far out.

I am not blaming everything on the missed kick, I hated the playcalling too....you run 3 times up the middle and you kick, they were already in fg range.

That's not what the pats do...They have always tried to score..When a team starts playing a different style than normal bad things happen.

The Cardinals defense is just what I thought it was...very good. And they came with a great game plan against our offense. A few miscues by Brady, a few drops from our WRs and our offense shows no signs of improvement from last week. I thought the Cardinals D would be a good barometer of where our offense stands. We found out our offense is not in good standing. The Cards were stronger and more physical along the front 7, they got good pressure on TB and took away our receivers as effectively as anyone. Thomas in for Connolly, the sun in Welker's eyes; shit happens. An int here, a blocked punt there, a missed TD to Gronk, a missed 2 pts to Gronk and the hole that we dug is deep. AHern going out doesn't help (at best a high ankle; at worst a fracture) but no excuses. BB warned us the Cards were tough. In the end, fingers can be pointed right at our O for this. I'm not surprised. Not after that iffy performance last week.

Had Ghost made that kick we would have won the game but it wouldn't have changed the sad state of our offense one bit.

No, you win the game, you run it 3 times up the middle and you kick, you have no timeouts, you are at the end of the game and you are behind....a fg wins the game.

Someone explain to me why they decided to just waste 45 seconds of time that could've been used to make it an easier try for Gostkowski?
