See, moose love the Pats too!
The Patriots have been consistently better than Manning's teams over the years. Did you know this? In their careers, the average passer rating has been around 82, so let's say, a passer rating of under 80 would be considered a "below average" game for a QB. In TBs career, he has played in 193 regular season games. Of those games, he has had 60, or 31% of his games, with a passer rating under 80. What is the Patriots record in those games when he plays "below average?" The answer, they are 30-30, or .500. Manning, on the other hand, has played 240 games, and has 56 games below an 80 passer rating, or 23% of his games. What was his team's records when he played "below average?" 18-38, or a win percentage of .32. In the playoffs, TB has played 25 games, and has played "below average" in 11 of them, or 44%. The Patriots record in those games, 7-4, or a winning percentage of 63%. Manning has played 21 playoff games, and has 7 games with a "below average" passer rating. His team's record when he plays below average, 3-4, or 43% win percentage. The Patriots have been far better in games when their QB does not play well, they have had the talent, and the coaching, to overcome it. (Note, I only counted games the QBs played over a couple of series in, i.e., threw over 15 passes.)
And what you seem to forget is that PeyPey, at least in the big games, has the tendency to directly impact (negatively) the outcome of games.
What was Brady's passer rating on Saturday? 78.4
Know why that matters? Because Brady did what was asked of him and didn't turn the ball over.
Also, while Peyton had a worse defense before 2007, he had a significantly better offense. Since 2007 things have evened out a bit, and this year Denver is a MUCH better team on paper as of the game Sunday.
