WEEK 12 · Cardinals at Patriots -Sun 11/29 · 1:00 PM EST

I'll tell you what, this might be one of the "worst"pats teams in BB's tenure, but they don't quit. Think about that 09 team, the pukiest bunch BB ever had other than 2000, imo. that team couldn't quit fast enough. Proud of these guys. ❤
I respect that because it a honest post. You see this team fighting to end .

Dugger and Butler balled. even bentley wasn't bad. Guy=the best unknown (nationally)Pat
might be time to move on from Gilmore, i hate to say it. guy was worth his 1st pats contract and then some. not seeing it this year.
Well said, and you know Bill will be very happy with that at least.

I remember that 09 side and NFLN had a mic on Bill one game, I think it was v the Saints and we lost and Bill was on the sideline talking to Tom and seemed exasperated "I just can't get this team where I want them". It was a very honest moment. I think that was a side with glaringly ordinary players like Tully Banta-Cain etc

For all the criticism, Bill still did what he does best, always. Takes away the opponents best assets. Hopkins was held to 55 yards and Murray was contained as well as you could possibly hope for. That's really what Bill does best, what Bruschi was talking about last week.

Butler had a breakout game . Watching murray throw yesterday reminded me a lot of Favre gunslinger days . It's either a big play or Int.

Adam "I love Big Buts" Butler had a great game, Bill highlighted his play in the post-game press conference.

Q: You got a big performance from Adam Butler. Can you talk about him a little bit.
BB: Yeah, we missed Adam last week. Adam did a real good job of penetrating the inside part of the pocket. I think that certainly helped our pass defense, not just the sack but some disruptive plays in there. Just made it a little tougher for them to execute the passing game.
He did a nice job. He's good at that. He's good at penetrating the inside part of the pocket. When we have that for him, it makes a big difference for our defense in those passing situations.

They don't quit, especially the D & STs after being criticized after last week's game. Who'dathunk Akeem Spence and Bentley would make that goal line stand? Who? Yeah, Akeem Spence who was flipping burgers just 10 days ago. Or Moncrief, who hadn't returned a KO in 6 years, would be a hero? Or Olszewski, who played so iffy just last week would make such a difference this week?

The offense otoh graded poorly all around from my perspective...Cam-D; WRs-F; OL-D; RBs-C; TEs-F.
Coaching grades:
Defensive coaches get a B for holding their offense in check.
Offensive coaches get an F for a bad plan and bad execution. I've read this was to be a passing game for us with Cam airing it out. I don't know how when our receivers couldn't get open and Cam had little time to wait since AZ packed the box and played the run on their way to Cam. Every defense is playing us that same way since they have 0 respect for our WRs. Harry made a joke of himself again yesterday. Pathetic.

I soured on Gilmore this past summer when he held out for 3 weeks to get an extra $5M for this year and next. There's no way BB will pay him $17M next year. His hold out was called "for personal reasons" at the time. We know how BB responds when players extort extra money.

There was a point yesterday that I thought maybe BSF was right and losing games now might be in our best interest for the future. I mean, I'd rather have a top 8-10 pick this year for a decade of relevance rather that live in this mediocrity for the foreseeable future. There's a good side and bad side for every win this year, at least for me.

Really nice win yesterday. Despite the poor offensive showing, wins like that are fun to watch. I’ll say this. I didn’t expect it, and the teams been doing a lot better recently than I thought was possible.
There’s no reason to keep Harry around. He’s bad. At least Sony doesn’t see the field anymore.
I couldn’t help but wonder how much Murray’s AC injury was affecting him. I read various things about it during the week in terms of how severe it was. At a minimum I think it contributed to his inconsistency, and probably made him reluctant to run like he really can for fear of taking a bad hit.

As fun as it was watching yesterday, with the playoffs out of the picture I can’t help but wonder if these useless wins just put a good QB farther and farther out of reach.

I like Cam, and I hope he’s back for a year or two, but I think we all know he’s not the long term answer towards reaching the super bowl again.

Scam isn't going to apologize for winning...when he was part of the problem for almost losing.

Butler should be playing a lot more.

I'm not sure it's on the receivers right now. He's missing open receivers on plenty of his throws, or not seeing them at all. Not that the WRs are amazing or anything, but obviously a competent passer wouldn't struggle to throw for 100 yards despite the lack of elite talent.

Cam's not dominating with his legs right now, so all the focus (as a viewer) is on his arm. He's had like 1 game this year where he looked like a competent passer. The rest have been pretty awful. He takes forever to get the ball out and his accuracy on short-medium throws is bad.

He showed flashes through the season. With the right game plan, he can still be a winning QB but it's clear that this O is going to live and die with Harris and the OL.
