Very impressive, Chevs. All of those numbers are nuts. He isn't that guy anymore, but he's still
a specimen.
If Newton can turn it around and mount a big comeback in 2021 it would two things to me.
1. Improbable. How actually beat up is that body? Can he be healthy enough to get his stroke back? Some guys
never could throw and some had a big arm and lost it due to wear and tear (see: Manning, Peyton). I
don't know that Cam's issues are chronic or beyond improvement, but I expect his command of the offense to be
noticeably better.
2. Well deserved. As I've said here a dozen times he accepted the challenge of one of the biggest no-win
situations imaginable and he did it almost for free. He won the team over, embraced what it
means to be a Patriot and handled the highs and lows with totally open honesty, intelligence
and maturity. He's a different guy than I thought he was and I'd like to see him get his game back.
What we're talking about here is the NFL version of a Fairy Tale coming true, but it remains a possibility.
If so, it wouldn't be the first one of those we've had around here. Why not another?
