McDaniels is working with what he has. While Mac has far exceeded expectations he is still a rookie making some rookie mistakes. Then you have an offense consisting of mostly first year skill players aside from Jakobi and Harris. Statistically this is a very good offense, but the other teams are pros, too. There are bound to be growing pains, tells and patterns that the opposing team sees. With time they will get to correct it, but I think this year the team has possibly plateaued. And that's fine.
Not to mention that the struggles have come at the hands of top defenses. Any other type of defense, Pats offense seems to shred them. Things are looking good, but there are only so many things to expect with the limitations that the team has at the moment.
The play calling has been terrible and PREDICTABLE. That needs to change.
