The 2nd Patriots game I ever went to was against the Vikings who had decided not to re-sign their well-known QB, Joe Kapp for the 1970 season. Neither did anybody else until
the Patriots made him the highest-paid player in the league. He was new in town and standing on the sidelines for that game, looking around at a crumbling College stadium and
then at his former team who killed us that day.
Kapp was absolutely awful for us and got the shit kicked out of him behind a horrendous OL. He only played that one season leading us to a 2-12 season before getting into a beef
with the NFL over his refusal to sign a "standard player's contract" and he never played again.
We sucked and I think he decided that he would look better if he didn't just outright quit the Pats for his own safety since he was famous for his "machismo" AKA Mexican balls,
but that's what a lot of folks thought at the time. He might've been the worst starting QB we ever had. He was all sizzle and no steak. A total media creation.
Also, I believe that Game of Thrones used former Vikes coach Bud Grant as the template for the King of the White Walkers, but the KIng had more personality.
