Bill and Kraft part ways

Schefter was on ESPN a short time ago saying Mayo is the leading candidate to replace Bill. Not sure if that is based on intel received prior to the Vrabel firing, but he said it not more than 30 minutes ago.

Take whatever you want out of this but it does seem like it will come down to either Mayo or Vrabel.
It's also being said by a lot of other pundits. Andy Hart seems to believe Mayo is a certainty.

End of an Era. It'll be one of either Vrabel or Mayo, Vrabel already has the head coaching and roster building experience, but Mayo's been part of this team for a number of years now, and I think he'll have the backing of the players already in the building.

While we're at it, maybe we can fire the other Bill too? Get an offensive coordinator who'll run a more modern offence.

I wonder where BB goes now, stick in the NFL to beat Shula's record or maybe take a job in college football?

With Nick Saban retiring and Bill being good friends with NS, maybe he takes over for a couple years at Alabama, unlikely though, as others have said, if he goes to college football, it'll be the Naval Academy.

It’s got to be a total house cleaning of anyone ever associated with BB. No Vrable, Mayo, or god forbid McDaniels.

Vrabel will be hired once the required interviews are fulfilled.

Part of me does not want BB to coach elsewhere. However, I also want him to surpass Shula badly. And I will be cheering for Belichick to do so...just like I cheered for Brady to win his 7th Super Bowl.

wonder if people will turn on BB if he joins a new team like they did Brady?

I rooted for Brady post-Patriots and I'll root for Bill Belichick post-patriots

Of course. Some rEaL fAnS will try to throw shade at anyone who cheers for Bill to win with Atlanta, LAC, or the Redskins. Fuck em.

scenes you'd like to see:

On June 12, 2024 during the Patriots' Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for Tom Brady, during his acceptance speech Tom turns to RKK and states:

"Bob, firing BB was the worse fuc.king mistake you made since going back a second time to The Orchids for a rub 'n tug the day of our 2019 Playoff game in KC that led to our Patriots winning our last Super Bowl victory a few weeks later. The LAST Super Bowl this franchise will ever win.

And you once called BB a 'schmuck' --- well who's the schmuck now.":biggrin:

Looks like Curran was right.
I certainly won’t miss Bill Belichick. he should have been canned for benching Butler after the Eagles Super Bowl. Hopefully we get an offensive minded coach not from his coaching tree.

not gonna miss the greatest coach of all time that helped get 6 lombardis and 9 superbowl appearances?

thats some real gratitude

Such a ray of sunshine.

one thing that makes me nervous...

think about whenever we lost a coordinator to a HC position, they would gut our staff and take at least 3-4 assistants with them on the way out the door.. it was a huge problem dating back to around 2019 or so, we were hemoraghing coaching talent from this team with coordinators getting hired to HC positions

With BB leaving, what will that look like? He's going to have to essentially assemble an entire coaching staff on a new team... and the obvious people he'd be most comfortable with is people in his ranks now that he could steal away with promotions

that would be devastating unless the new HC had a nice coaching tree of their own to bring in

And this is why Vrabel ie much preferable to Mayo. Vrabel is NOT part of BB's coaching tree. He has his own people.
