The Dynasty

It seems like I dogged a bullet by not watching.
Great choice. Don't waste your time. It's actually depressing that the owners of this team signed dff on this and gave their approval to a blatant smear job on the coach that brought 6 Superbowls to their team and elevated the Patriots to the 2nd most valuable franchise in the league behind the Cowboys.

You know this is a complete farce when they talk through the Butler INT and have NO talk or discussion about Bill practising that very play in practice and Bill's refusal to call a T/O before the play. Again, no credit to Bill whatsoever for the win.

A pitiful farce at this stage and Kraft has made an utter fool of himself.

At least Kraft didn't throw Bill under the bus during spygate like Bill did to Brady during the whole deflategate saga. Bill didn't get suspended for spygate where he was clearly guilty. Brady, where the league had no proof of anything, receives a 4 game suspension.

This documentary is all about Brady/Belichick/aurora of the Patriots dynamic. Both the director and producer have been saying that since the very beginning.

Yeah, the worst play call in NFL history. Brady deserved some luck after deflategate and got it in SB49. Pete Carroll will never forgive himself for that call. What was he thinking? All he had to do was call a run play for the beast Lynch and the Seahawks would have scored the winning TD. It wasn't rocket science, no way were the Patriots stopping Lynch 3 times in a row at the goal-line. Everybody in America knew it, except Pete Carroll.

Bill didn't throw Tom under the bus. Bill knew nothing about the reported under inflated balls and he said so. Was Bill supposed to make up something?
"Speak for yourself" is a motto on the walls of the locker room and it was never more important than at moment.
Bill didn't get suspended for spygate but he did get a healthy fine and lost draft picks.

Well if that is true, and it is not, he is making up for it in spades in this documentary from what I have been hearing.

From my pov, Kraft is the one who should have stood up to the owners more forcefully. Kraft bent over and let his QB take the hit for deflategate.

Episode 7 from Alex Barth.

Episode 8 from Alex Barth. It's below some re-signing news. As we suspected the rift between BB and TB began with drafting JimmyG. Tom's feelings were hurt but
he competed like crazy and enjoyed a resurgence in his career.

I am reminded that Welker once complained, after Aperp's death, about APerp threatening him for criticizing a route Aperp ran during practice 1 day. Welker left him alone after that.
True story.

In reading James Patterson's book about our former serial killer there was an interesting bit about Welker. Hernandez was attempting to watch some film but was frustrated by
the machine he was trying to use to do so and he asked Welker, who happened to be walking by, for a little help. Wes rudely shut him down by saying "figure it out
for yourself, rookie" and that apparently triggered Hernandez to the point where he blew up, went all gangster on Welker and threatened to fuck him up.

Not sure if it's a different incident or what, but what was clear is that Welker really seemed seriously freaked out by the guy from virtually the time he arrived in Foxboro. Wes
figured things out pretty quick.

Spygate was literally nothing, Arian.
Same with DeflateGate, of course.
Neither should have been suspended

Get ready, folks, for episode 9. Kraft is going to up the attacks on Bill. What a prick.

On the Butler benching.

“What has been told to me is that there was something personal going on between Bill and Malcolm that was not football-related,” Kraft said in Episode 9.Kraft added: “I always felt that every decision Bill had made had been to put what was in the best interest of the team first and put emotion aside. But, with Malcolm, he did just the opposite.”

Belichick Stonewalls Questions

This is one of the more awkward moments from the entire season of The Dynasty.

Series director Matt Hamachek: “In the 2017 season, Malcolm Butler had played 98% of the snaps. Why was he only on the field for one play during the Super Bowl?”

Belichick: “Yeah, Matt, we’ve talked about that.”

Hamachek: “I didn’t ask you about it.”

Belichick then silently stares into the camera for 10 seconds before the show cuts to Kraft revealing the new details.

The exchange between Hamachek and Belichick suggests the two spoke off-camera about Butler, with Belichick communicating he didn’t want to discuss it. Belichick’s reaction makes it clear he wasn’t thrilled to be asked about Butler’s benching, a subject he’s long refused to talk about.

It also was an on-brand moment for Belichick in this series, as the former Patriots head coach was disengaged and clearly annoyed throughout.

It is infuriating that Bill can't answer that question. After all these years, we deserve to know something.
