I am a big fan of album cover art (as you might be able to infer from my current avatar).

I'm interested in the favorites of other Planeteers. Please post one or more of the ones you like the best, if you're so inclined.

Here's one I like a lot (and the album is in my all-time top-5, too).

I always liked Savatage's album covers.

You can't see it too well with the size of the image but there's a face looking down on the girl made by the branches on the last one.

Geez, I even have a post in that thread. The Alzheimer's is strong in me, today.

Perhaps one of the mods can delete this thread - since the other one only ran 5 pages, there's apparently not a lot of interest in this topic.

Actually, 5 pages was a pretty epic thread back in 2005.

I'm also at times a minimalist:

The White Album

Crappy image and I think wrong.

I think when the white album first came out, it had that small label in the lower right hand corner.

It was the later editions that had the label that you show in your larger image.

I'm not a huge Beatles fan, and I'm just going by memory here. Since I can't even remember a thread on this topic (album art) from five years ago, you probably should be skeptical of how well I remember an album that came out in the 1960s. :D

This is correct. Tim first showed the original album cover from the US release. The British release was originally embossed in white so there was a white-on-white title. Later editions of both releases had The Beatles printed in a contrasting pigment. Good memory Tip Roast, I am a huge Beatles fan and missed that. :thumb:

Is this a chicken or egg situation?

"Whats wrong with sexy?"

FWIW, I think KMFDM managed to pull off one of the most iconic and recognizable album cover art genres I remember

At least until Nihil, which was just odd, then they went back to the old style...
