* Larry is the toughest because I don't actually like him as a person in any way. But the guy is impossible to leave off given his accomplishments.

With you here on Mr. Trickle. There was a stretch of maybe two years or so, on Sportcenter Sunday Nights where they'd cover the Nascar results and the announcer would do something like;

The winner at Martinsville, Dale Earnhardt, with Mark Martin finishing second. In 27th place, Dick Trickle.

Cheers, BostonTim

Gordie Howe
Wayne Gretzky
John Hannah
Julius Erving
Ron Lancaster

I'm very Patriots oriented, and because of my age my best memories are the current era.

1. Tom Brady, obviously.
2. Troy Brown
3. Rodney Harrison
4. Wes Welker
5. Tedy Bruschi

In no particular order:

Dan Koppen

Richard Hill (Rugby)

Eric Cantona (Soccer)

Bryan Robson (Soccer)

Rodney Harrison

I'm fat with a chip on my shoulder about the popular kids at the School, so Brady doesn't make the list.

If it's a top ten:

Ian Botham (cricket)

Andrew Flintoff (cricket)

Richard Seymour (I'll be gutted when he doesn't re-sign)

Martin Johnson (Rugby)

Paul Mc Grath (soccer)

My five on facebook:

Larry Bird
Steve Grogan
Franco Harris
Carlton Fisk
Tom Brady

Tom Brady

Bo Jackson

Darrell Green

Craig Heyward

Tommie Frazier

Only occassionally have I ever had a favorite athlete. Those that I can even remember:

Mike Greenwell
Jalen Rose
Dwight Evans
Mosi Tatupu
Rip Hamilton (UConn, not Det), or maybe El Amin. Frankly I can't remember who was my favorite player on that team, but that UConn team was one of my favorite teams of all time, so I had to mention them.

Despite the Pats being my only sports interest in the past 5 years or so, I just don't get too attached to players any more. Probably the closest to a recent favorite would be Rodney.
