They were great because Marino hit them between the numbers in stride for 10 years...they never had to stop and wait for the ball...or out-Jump DB's...or even jog backwards or have to physically fight off 2 DB's for 75% of the balls hummed at them...Marino used to pass the ball to his recievers not humm it like Brady !!!

What happened in the playoffs, did he choke?

Do you not think Marino made some of those player Pro Bowlers?

The Pro Bowl is a joke FYI - The Browns Derek Anderson made the PB this year.

Stephenson was around long before Marino and wrong about Duper and Clayton. Both would be pro bowlers with any decent quarterback. Not everything dropped into their hands. They had to chase balls as much as any other receiver.

One thing that they might not be without Marino is a coke head since Duper was and probably got it from Marnio and Clayton suffers from constant headaches from having Dan yell at him all those years. ROFL

In his 17-year career, Marino played with 55 players named to the Pro Bowl. Marino himself was named a Pro Bowler nine times. That’s a remarkable 64 Pro Bowl players, or nearly four for every season Marino spent in the NFL. Four times in Marino’s career, the Dolphins boasted five or more Pro Bowl players in a single season. Compare that with New England’s two Super Bowl teams, which had a total of just five Pro Bowl players.

Real Dynasty's have Great players...Fake Dynasty's have Patriot players ...

Myth: Marino was a big-game quarterback.

Cold, Hard Football Facts: Want to know the real reason why Marino never won a Super Bowl? Sadly, the answer sits with Dan Marino himself.

Simply put, Marino did not elevate his game in the playoffs. In fact, his played dropped off quite noticeably. Marino has a career regular season passer rating of 86.4. His postseason passer rating was just 77.1. He played in 18 playoff games, and won just eight of them.

In his one Super Bowl appearance (a 38-16 loss to the 49ers in Super Bowl XIX), Marino completed 29 of 50 passes for 318 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs. It adds up to a weak 66.9 passer rating. One wonders what might have happened had his two Super Bowl drives that ended in interceptions ended in touchdowns instead.

Remember that 1998 Miami team that had the best defense in football? It made the playoffs, but Marino failed to hold up his end of the bargain. The season ended in the second round of the playoffs, with Marino coughing up two interceptions against Denver and posting a passer rating of just 65.5. Yet another opportunity for Marino to win a Super Bowl tossed into the hands of an opposing defender.

In fact, Marino threw at least one interception in 13 of his 18 career playoff games. He threw two or more interceptions 10 times. The Dolphins went just 1-9 in those 10 Marino multi-interception playoff games.

So, DollFans, if you're looking for a reason why Miami never won a Super Bowl in the 1980s or 90s, look no further than the faded Dan Marino poster still taped to the ceiling over your bed.

Please, then why couldn't Marino "make" any other recievers after they left? Once they were gone, so were Marino's numbers. He still had flashes and no doubt he was great but you're selling great players short because you want to protect your hero's legacy.

Has d22 ever seen brady play? I mean everyone knows that bradys biggest stength is his accuracy. D22 picks 2 plays out of 500 passes last year and uses that as the basis of what brady does.

Marino was a good QB, but ridiculously overrated. He should not be in any reasonably thinking football fan's top 5 of all time

Perhaps we should just remove any QB individual record...but I don't want to see some Brokeback Brady fans kill themselves...:banghead:

Of course, marino breaks records by himself, brady does it with the teams help. All other Qb's don't have a team around them, only brady does. Maybe when those other Qb's are able to play with other players they will win more, that holding the ball with one had while shedding blockers and then passing down the field to yourself is hard work. Of course unless the pats defense plays bad, then its brady that choked.

Maybe.

Why it it when Marino doe's something HE did it but when it's Brady it's a TEAM game:blink:

No no, see if the pats lose, then its all bradys fault and he choked, regardless of what really happened in the game, but if he plays lights out and wins, its the team. Marino on the other hand, its all him, well except for those playoff losses which of course was that sorry teams fault.

But yet Marino didn't choke in the playoffs:blink: talk about confusing.

Numb nuts says Brady chokes in the playoffs but uses's Romo as an example of a 'play' maker, yet he blew the only 2 playoff games he's been in..

No see again, only brady is affected by the team when he plays great, all other Qb's are not, its them, the only time the team affects other Qb's besides brady is when they lose, then its the teams fault. Now if brady loses its of course all him, the only time the team is involved is when he plays great and wins.

So when Bray play's well it's the team and when he play's bad it's Brady.

When Marino played well it wa Marino and when he played bad it was team.:thumb:

Exactly, its very commong formula when someone is trying to argue that a great player is actually bad, the other argument not used much anymore is..."system" when you say system, from that point forward you don't have to explain how the system works, why its so different than all other systems, all you have to say is system. Any questions regarding that word is ignored at that point.

So that explains why Brady with his 14 - 3 career playoff record and 2 uperbowls is a 'chocker' and Marino with his 8 - 10 playoff record and ZERO rings is the 'greates' of all-time.:thumb:

That also explains why dumb dumb loves Tony Romo and his 0 - 2 playoff record in witch he directly blew both games.
