I saw this on Smart Football earlier and had to share. If anyone needs a football fix, watching these videos of a master artist at work should do the job. Football can be a beautiful game.

I was actually watching this before I saw this thread, what a coincidence. I'm in the middle of video 2 right now.

Most clutch Superbowl QB ever, his footwork, decision-making, anticipation, and accuracy were the best of his time. He won 2 rings before Jerry Rice ever showed up.

Does anybody remember the Chiefs-Broncos game in the 90's, near Montana's end of career? One of the best regular season games ever, Montana and Elway coming back from behind on each other a few times until Montana won it.

Best ever and best that will ever be. I can't believe even try to bring Marino in the argument at times.

Loved watching him, still do on highlights. The pre-SB hype from the Peyton is best-ever crowd owes this guy an apology. Hell, I was pissed when they wanted to skip Tom, let alone Montana.

NFL Network replayed the broadcast awhile back. It was just as good the second time around.

He is the best QB to ever play the game. The best QB to play for ND.

he looks as though he throws down the field with such little effort. Thing of beauty.

His mobility is often overlooked. He could get out of trouble as well as anyone and make the sweetest throws across his body while on the move you've ever seen. Seeing him running the option at ND is a treat. He was tough as hell too. Never afraid to put his head down and deliver a hit. A great roll out guy too. I loved how he could extend a play by either moving or just waiting and then putting unreal touch on the ball.

Speaking of overlooked, John Taylor was friggin good.

No one like him and I love the fact that he still can't stand Young.

<tangent>
Youg is the biggest blow hard. He's so full of himself when he talks about "the artistry of quarterback".

Montana would be the star if he played today.

Joe Montana is the standard. Brady is the next closest. Then there are several in the mix for third. Just talking modern era.

I love Brady, but I think for him to match or surpass Montana as best ever when his career is over, he'll need at least one or two monster Superbowl performances, and several more classic come from behind game-winning drives, where a TD is needed to win (not a FG).

I was pretty young during Montana's prime. I remember him being awesome but nothing really specific. I didn't realize how good of a passer he was on the run. Impressive to say the least. That highlighted sack he avoided in the NFCC in the first video was a thing of beauty, totally undressed the guy. Who was the defender there?

That was Ed "Too Tall" Jones.

man those stripes on the ball are annoying

but he is amazing to watch, really special and I am lucky to have been coming of age while he was playing

LOL A friend just said" There were more men in the VIkings huddle than at the Indy airport"
