Raider Fan on their message board isn't confident:

"Belichick has no class and Brady will want to pad his stats after 2 pedestrian games. So just put the face down in the pillow now, because the Patriots are going to go in dry."

:)

Lol!

I love the almost monosyllabic thought process with this. Just ho-hum during a major atrocity.

West Coast team travelling East for a 1pm is a recipe for disaster for GOOD teams.

Oakland isn't good.

Line sounds a touch low.

ROFLROFL

It's alternate universe week!

I had to laugh at BB's presser this morning. Typical of his MO, he started out with the things that make the Raiders such a daunting opponent.

"They have a couple of good kickers that can make kicks from almost any distance." (Paraphrased).

LMAO

From Reiss

1. Divergent paths since the Snow Bowl: On game day, it will have been 4,628 days since the Snow Bowl game between the teams. Consider the path the teams have taken since:
  • The Patriots have a 148-46 record, while the Raiders are 64-130.
  • The Patriots have had 12 winning seasons and the Raiders one.
  • The Patriots have had two starting quarterbacks, the Raiders 18.
  • The Patriots have had one head coach, the Raiders seven.
2. Raiders struggle in Eastern Time zone: According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Raiders have lost 14 consecutive day games in the Eastern Time zone, which is the sixth-longest streak in the Super Bowl era. The Titans/Oilers own the longest losing streak in Eastern Time zone games -- 30, from 1981-1987.

3. Brady not connecting down field: Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has a 55.8 completion percentage through two games, which is 33rd among 35 qualifiers. Brady is 6-of-28 on passes 10 or more yards down the field.
  • 0-10 yards -- 75.5 percent (5th)
  • 11-20 yards -- 29.4 percent (33rd)
  • 20 or more yards -- 9.1 percent (32nd)
4. Receivers play part in down-the-field passing struggles: While Brady has been inaccurate at times on throws of 10 yards or more down the field, his receivers don't always help him out. The Patriots are among the league-leaders in percentage of dropped passes more than 10 yards down field:
  • 2014 -- 11.8 (tied-28th)
  • 2013 -- 6.4 (32nd)
  • 2012 -- 9.4 (32nd)
5. Regular-season home winning streak vs. conference foes: The Patriots have won 30 straight regular-season home games against conference opponents, the longest streak since the merger:
  • Patriots -- 30
  • Bengals -- 8
  • Panthers -- 6
  • Saints - 6
6. Turnover differential remains strength: The Patriots have a league-high seven takeaways through two games and own a plus-5 differential. This has been part of their identity since Brady became their starting quarterback, while the Raiders are an NFL-worst minus-83 over that span:
  • Patriots -- plus-150
  • Packers -- plus-60
  • Colts -- plus-44
  • Seahawks -- plus-44

1 Raiders fan says there is reason for optimism

http://justblogbaby.com/2014/09/18/reasons-for-optimism-for-the-oakland-raiders/

The offensive line played a great game, especially in pass protection where they were able to contain JJ Watt most of the day, which is no small feat.

And the Texans game got away from them on 6 plays

The Texans game really came down to 6 big plays that influenced the game dramatically:
1. Rivera’s fumble
2. Jones’ fumble…x2
3. Carr’s interceptions...x2
4. Watt’s touchdown and Foster’s 40-yard run to set it up.
So [7] plays [really], but in the retrospect of an entire game, that is not much at all. The bright side is that all of these are correctable and don’t happen very often.

7 plays gone awry? Seems like a lot to me.

7 plays gone awry? Seems like a lot to me.

Especially if you look at the number of plays.

Looking at the box score, the Texans ran 60 offensive plays and the Raiders 44.

5 of those 7 plays were during Raiders offensive plays and 5 out of 44 is 11.36%.

If you have a big time screw up, more than one out of every 10 plays, that most certainly is a lot.

If you look at the numbers, Oakland has averaged 5 to 6 plays per drive for the past few years.

So if every other possession you're screwing the pooch, that's certainly what I'd call "a lot".

I've noticed the Patriots' D is the number 1 defense in many fantasy leagues this wk. Is Oakland's offense that bad? Yes, they are. 31st in overall offense thus far.

QB Matt Schaub's wife had an emergency C-sxn last night with the baby several months premature. The baby is doing well but Schaub is not available for the Raiders today. Rookie QB Derek Carr is on his own even though he did beat out Schaub for the starting job. Matt McGloin is his backup for today's game.

Adam Schefter reports the Raiders' FO will likely fire HC Dennis Allen if the Raiders show poorly today and use Tony Sparano as an interim HC.

Ok, so I just spent a few minutes reading that board.

Holy crap what a depressing place. "Let's fire Dennis Allen and bring in Tony Sparano". Seriously, that's a thread.

I'd feel bad for them but....**** the Raiders. :traitors:

It looks like the Raiders FO is really tuned in to the fans.

edit:
Aaron Schatz ‏<s>@</s>FO_ASchatz <small class="time"> 6m </small> When your team hasn't been good for 12 years, the proper solution is clearly to fire the head coach in week 3. Yay raiders!

Jaime Collins is working out with coaches, trainers and doctors watching. I expected him out this wk and really don't see a need to push him vs the Raiders but maybe he's a game time decision.

shalise manza young @shalisemyoung#patriots inactives: CB Dennard, WR Dobson, OL Wendell, RB White, DB D. Jones, DL Moore, OL Kline

KT, Collins are active.

Dobson is a healthy scratch for 2nd time in 3 wks. I thought LaFell or Amendola might be out today.
