Jim Carroll - Poet, Author and leader of one of the most underrated bands in history, died today at 60.

He wrote "The Basketball Diaries" - his story of heroin addiction as an early teenager.

He was the leader of "The Jim Carroll Band" - His "Catholic Boy" album is amazing. I've listened to it thousands of times and I'm still catching up figuring stuff out. A great match of words and music.

RIP Jim

Mothahfriggah...it's frickin' true...

I just had a piece of me musical-soul ripped out.

Jim, thank you for sharing your talents with us.

I hope that you get to visit with your friends/brothers that died before you.

I was gonna say this happened a while ago.

With the possible exception of Gilbert Grape, it's Leo's greatest performance.

R.I.P. Jim Carroll.
