Freestyle Friday in Decorah
From Raptor Resource Project:
October 19, 2022: DNF (front) and Mr. North. Look for them in the very early morning!
October 21, 2022: HM on the Y-Branch. I love the colors, textures, and play of light. Nothing is
more beautiful than an eagle in the fall!
October 22, 2022: DNF sports a little nare bling on her lovely beak!
October 23, 2021: HM (back) and HD (front) work on N1. If we're fortunate, we'll have eggs here
In roughly four months!
October 25, 2022: HM at N1 with a fresh talonful of soft grass. I used her long, uneven collar to identify her.
It might seem early to start bringing grass to the nest, but the subfloor needs a lot of prep before egg cup
construction starts. It needs to be low enough to drain water and soft enough to absorb it. The layers
of grass also help protect eggs from rupturing and puncture.
