I would really like to see that, but the realist / little voice in me keeps thinking "on any given Sunday". Got to play the games.... but I'd still agree it is possible.

Agreed, they are more balanced than the Bills. With the Bills, you know Allen is the biggest threat whether it is to pass or run. With the Colts, they can get you through the air or on the ground. I think if the Pats can get an early lead, the Colts might abandon the run. But that is easier said than done obviously.

Yeah, the defense allowed the offense to play a pragmatic, "punch you in the mouth and you'll like it" type of football. Had Bills scored on those short fields it would have been a very different game.

1) They won the game, and were ahead most of the game. Keep the lead, and get the fuck out of town. That game was like 2 1/2 hours. Even if you take out the Harris TD run (which you shouldn't do because it's dumb cherrypicking, but even if you did) the Patriots still averaged more the 4 YPC. Against 9 and 10 (and occasionally 11) man boxes.

tl;dr - They didn't need to throw, so they didn't. Running the clock was more important once they got the lead.

2) The Patriots play the Bills again in 3 weeks, and they showed the Bills absolutely NOTHING on offense. Nothing. If it's a crisp 45 degree day in Foxboro with little wind, expect a lot more passing. This was a demoralizing way to lose a football game, because the Bills were soft on both lines.

Also I love how Josh Allen completes 50% and less than 4 YPA and suddenly he's Dan Marino.


Also, I guess Matt "3 Teams in 3 Years" Brieda wasn't the answer after all, Bills fans? :coffee:

After giving it some more thought I was probably way too hard on Josh McDaniels last night during the game. The game plan was brutal for Buffalo.

They need to make sure this team is out early in the playoffs. Nobody wants to see the Army/Navy game in the NFL.

And long time fans live for these types of smash mouth games. I thought last night was a brilliant game defensively. I thought the same thing about the Super Bowl against the Rams a few years ago.
 
The way the Bills built their team was to chase down the Chiefs, but can't handle the bad weather games. Moronic.
Wonder how big a shake up they will have next year.
