**Random FOOTBALL Thoughts That Don't Warrant Full Threads**

WTG, Michael!

The Brady hatred vs the Peyton love expressed by most media and fans is inexplicable to me.

Peyton is a product of carefully pre-packaged college and NFL lineage BS. He's the QB equivalent of an Edsel.

Brady entered the NFL with little fanfare, and less expectation. In 4 years, he took the NFL world by storm.
He's the QB equivalent of a Mustang.

I liked hearing Primetime scold on us comparing Brady to Montana (4 for 4 versus potentially 4 for 6). Instead, we should be comparing Brady to his generation (ie. Manning ... what comparison though?). It was a stupid argument. Brady shits on the other QBs in his generation, which is why he is in the GOAT discussion. Montana's SB resume is definitely impressive, but there are a multitude of reasons why Brady's career is equally special.

Regardless of SB wins/losses, no QB has ever sustained success for an entire career like Brady has. Just think about it - if NE wins today, Brady will basically solidify a career characterized by championship contention year in and year out. A 'down year' for Brady is not making it past the first round of the playoffs. In the salary cap era. With pitifully few Pro Bowl weapons.

I'm not saying Brady > Montana, but the suggestion that the two shouldn't be compared is ridiculous, especially when your counterargument is that we should be comparing Brady to Peyton.

I prefer a different automobile analogy.

My car metaphors were largely based on (sales& influence) expectations vs (sales&influence) realities.

But your comparison is apt as well :thumb:

Think I saw the stupidest football play ever today while watching the Taxslayer bowl on youtube. Game btwn Iowa and Tennessee.

The Kick returner for Iowa catches the kick at about the 2 yard line while running full speed toward the sideline. Before he knows it he's turning upfield and going out of bounds at about the 3.

This must be the moment of panic - OMG-I have the ball and am going out of ...what do I do???

Just throw the ball into the field of play...yea. that's it.. Tennessee recovers the ball at the 4.

Iowa got lucky in terms of the result.

The refs had called him out of bounds prior to his throw so it was a non play and no flag.
But after video review (and am sure it was replayed repeatedly in the stadium) it was called an illegal forward pass. They lost 1.5 yards and kept the ball.

The more this douche talks, the more I DESPISE him.
"We learned a lot. We got better.Especially in domestic violence. I mean that was something that was new. New to me personally."

ORLY?????????

Guess he forgot he had Terell Suggs on his team. You know, this guy, the first one whose idiot spouse married him after becoming a money grab baby momma and having domestic violence incident. No video here though. Too bad.

The former Candace Williams has previously accused Terrell Suggs of domestic violence.

In 2009, before they were married, she filed a request for a protective order claiming he had hit her and spilled bleach on her and their then-1-year-old son. She later requested that the order be rescinded after the couple reconciled.

In late 2012, Candace Suggs accused him of punching her in the neck and dragging her behind his car as he drove away with their two children. At that time, Terrell Suggs was ordered to turn over seven guns, including an AK-47, because of the temporary protective order granted by the Baltimore County Circuit Court.

Less than a month later, the couple married. Candace Suggs again asked for the protective order to be lifted.

Marv Lewis must be the luckiest coach around. A one year extension to his contract? He seems a good dude and everything but he must have compromising pictures of Paul Brown or something.....

Is that the same incident when he dumped bleach on his kid too? Or was that separate?

So for the second year in a row he's a not really but really a lame duck.

I think NaPolian has truly lost his marbles.
Today alone I hear him say, when talking about issues that drop guys in the draft, "If you didn't want him in the first round, why would you draft him in the 4th round?" I assume if someone offered BP a dented BMW at 40 k less than sticker, he'd turn that down as well.
#2- They are talking about the best drafting teams, of which they had the Colts #2, Seattle #1, (GB & Philly were the other 2) and he says, "I think one thing they all have in common is one, they all draft high character guys..." (UMMM HELLO??? SEATTLE?????)
