In the middle and the southwestern part...no.
My son spent time at several of the Montana reservations (as well as others in WA and ID) when he traveled with the Missoula Children's Theater. He said they were some of the most depressing places he's ever been to.
I'm near two of them.
Any chance that one of them is named Ft Belknap or Chippewa Cree Tribe?
In the middle and the southwestern part...no.
Where I'm from, yes. Where I work...no.
Ok, just wondering. One company I used to work for had a business partnership with the Tribes out in Montana.
From what I hear, they are pretty poor.
I had one of the guys telling me that the reservation was a good three hour drive from the airport.
I gave this guy a chance, but the more he was around the more he needed to go away! Some people change, it was obvious he wasn't.
I have to call BS on that one. I called Stevie to ask, and he said he never saw you.I'm gonna miss the guy, but his posts not universally appreciated. The whole thing reminds me of that time I was hanging out in the studio with Stevie Wonder.
That sounds like Ft. Belknap. It's remote.
The reservations are pretty poor indeed. Outside of them, there are big farmers and ranchers though. Montana is mostly agriculture. Well, mostly anyways.
Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. Montana is HUGE and there's not many people living out there. I can only think of three cities off-hand: Missoula, Kalispell and Helena.
As far as the Ft Belknap goes, they do have a casino, but since they're in the middle of nowhere, I am sure only tribal members use it.
We had a call center out there and these people were literally in double-wide trailers - they had internet access and everything. Hard to believe you can get internet access out in the middle of nowhere, but I am sure they had a satellite provider.

Ok, here it goes- We went to Makena beach, Maui, back then there was nobody there and it was a clothing optional beach, its a State Park now but back then you parked in some bushes and walked across a 500 yards of beach to get to the water. I carried a cooler, towels, folding chairs and what not all the way to the waters edge, but of course little Precious forgot something in the car so she went back (rented Lincoln Continental).. I'm sittin there alone and here comes what looked like a 20 year old Hawaii'n girl, very beautiful with long black hair- There is absolutely nobody on the beach but she comes up to me and lays out her towel right in front of me, takes off her clothes and starts doing yoga..So i'm just watching and hoping and preying my wife takes her time getting her make up or whatever out of the car. 10 minutes go by and i'm literally falling in love, then I look back and see Lil Precious marching across the beach, fists clinched and in my head I hear that witch music from the Wizard of Oz... My wife comes up and says something like "What the F is going on!" and 'What the F is she doing here!" I told Lil Precious "to calm down, we are guests here on the island"..
The goddess heard the commotion and calmly got up, rolled up her towel and walked on...
That's one of those times that I really regretted being married..

it was not singular but collective but the final one was that far over the top.
