NBA Finals - Cleveland vs Golden State

I am really enjoying LeBron getting his butt kissed while he is a -33 in 2 finals games. He is the second best small forward in this series so far.

They run everything through him and play no defense, of course he is going to compile stats.

Jordan > Magic > Kobe > LeBron?
Any talk of him being better than Jordan is infantile.

Magic - 9 finals and 5 wins (Celtics and Sixers and Pistons in the way)
Kobe - 7 finals and 5 wins (while the Spurs were winning 5 of 6 in his own conference)
Jordan - 6 finals and 6 wins (Lakers and Pistons in the way)

His Super Team was a joke that went 2-2 in the finals. There is no all-time greatness there, just an All-Star team playing to par.
'Not 1, not 2...' Yeah, 2 exactly!
Who was his biggest challenge in the East?
The Bulls?
The Pacers?
The Celtics?

Being 5th in playoffs scoring per game but getting to accumulate games by owning a bad conference does not make you the greatest.

Peyton ManninHgH-esque in the AFC South.

After the Land loses in the finals this year, James will be 3-5 all time in finals. None of the other greats have a losing record at that level

They're already cushioning that fall pre-series in media coverage with how difficult it is on the rest of the league with Durant choosing GS.

Lebron is a better than MJ. I am not sure how that is even a discussion honestly and I find Lebron annoying to no end. But he plays all 5 positions and can literally do anything he wants on the court. MJ was the best pure scorer and even then Lebron passed him for most post-season points in fewer attempts.

The Truth was right. Durant is the best player in the world right now.

Don't really know what LeBron is supposed to do. He can't beat the last 2 MVPs by himself.

Also never understand the LeBron hate. Just don't get it.

This.

I can't fault LeBron if the Cavs lose this year. Look at his stats and play - he's doing literally all you could ask of anyone ever in his position. Without him, these would be 50 point blowouts at best.

Aside from his first Finals (or two), LeBron hasn't been the reason his teams have lost. He's carried his teams that have won and played well in losing efforts.

The fact that he's been to the Finals year after year (like Brady in the AFCCCG) is a testament to his elite status. Unfortunately, the West has been the stronger conference multiple times and his teams haven't been nearly as deep/skilled.

I don't hear sound bites that say: "I messed up" "I deserve the blame"

what you hear are excuses like I can't cover everyone, or the team needs to step up.

I want him to take the blame, to be a guy who says "I played like sh!T and we lost but I will get better."

I don't think he can do that.

Maybe if he played like shit he would say that. He hasn't in this series.

i think it is the Brady factor, Tom never takes credit for a win but steps forward when he loses as the reason.

Bill belichick will say coaches have to do a better job.

Tito Franco a was similar

So many patriot players deflect the praise, great players, I want to see LeBron do that.

I think the TB/BB factor counts, but that's more about how likable and respectable a player is in a general sense.

But in terms of how good a player is, it's irrelevant. TB would be the undisputed GOAT even if he was a giant prick.

I like Durant. Even though he's an evil, scum of the Earth Longhorn, he seems like a nice, quiet guy and I don't fault him at all for doing everything in his power to win a title.

Exactly. And the NFL and NBA are different. The NFL is the ultimate team game where as the NBA is all about the individuals and star power. No one on the Cavs ever expects Lebron to all of sudden develop humility. His bravado is part of his game and the guy has not had a poor post-season game going all the way back to last year. And even his poor game is 50 times better than the other guys.

More importantly, LeBron isn't a selfish player on the court. Have people already forgotten the days when he was shit on by the media for being TOO willing to set up his mates instead of taking over games?

Yep. He is the most unselfish super star in the sport. That is what makes him the true GOAT. He can score at will BUT chooses to be unselfish and set up his teammates. That goes much further with his team than any platitudes he could mouth after the game ...

He's not even close to GOAT.

Stop.

Stop.

He is. It is not even close. He plays every position. He is player/coach/GM. No one has possessed his level of basketball IQ with the dunces he has had for HCs. All the other greats learned from great college and/or pro coaches/personnel. 18 years old, no constitutional college to prepare him or teach him. No Auerbach, No Phil Jackson, no West. Stands up for social/racial issues unlike MJ. He leads as much off the court for a crap league as he does on the court. Married, has 3 kids. No drugs. No baby mamas. He is the GOAT. Undisputed.
