The battle for 1st seed - 2018

Haters pretend that Brady has the '85 Bears D and the 1994 Cowboys O-line every time he makes it to a Super Bowl.

Poor sad Drew and Aaron don't get to Super Bowls because Tommy has all the best toys.

I will assume here that the Patriot team that showed up, or more accurately, did NOT show up today will be put to a quick and painless death by BB and Staff during the Bye Week.

If you reject that assumption, then what follows is irrelevant.

Pats have 4 division games left, so even if the Fish win every other game they have left, Pats winning all 4 of those division games guarantees them the AFCE Title and 4 seed, on at least a tiebreaker.

If, in addition, Pats beat the Vikes, then they will need the Texans to lose one more to secure the 3 seed.

If the Pats top that by winning out, then Pitt will be at best 12-3-1 and Houston will be at best 13-3 (like the Patriots). This will give NE at worst a 2 seed, because they beat the Texans head to head.

To get the 1 seed, Pats need to win out and have the Chefs lose 2 more. Maybe we get help from LA, twice?

If the Pats win the division, a 4 seed is the worst they can be, IIRC.

Cheers

I'm thinking the Chiefs will have their hands full with the Rams, Ravens, and Seahawks.
Chargers look good too but the Chiefs seem to have their number thru nothing other than stupidity from the Chargers. I think maybe they are changing that.

Steelers are gonna have to deal with the Pats and the Saints. And they always suck against the Jaguars.

Pats? maybe Minnesota and us. Phins, they always seem to bite you once...

Haven't looked into Houston's schedule much. Probably should.

Anyway just ending week 10... I feel somewhat confident with improvements I have seen with my team each week.

Bite me.

the Crows are going to go in to the fetal position, wouldn't expect any help from them.

It looked like the Miami away game yesterday, so maybe that is out of our system and Miami will get to see the Pats compete this year.

Realistically we could go 2-2 between those teams. We've beat the Chargers like 7 straight but this will be the best Chargers team we faced during this period. rivers is quietly having one hell of a season and they will have Bosa back. He's a friggin monster. Seattle is playing good ball and I can just expect a loss to the Rams. We won't be able to stop Girly.

so if you guys just win out you could still easily be #1 seed.

It should be a fun last 7 weeks of the season.

Each of the four division leaders have a few games can could be a loss.

Pitt has a 1/2 game lead on the Pats and 6 games to go, looks like that Pitt-NE will likely decide the seeding ranking between Pitt and NE.

Don't overlook the Texans. If their Defense stays healthy they're a formidable team to reckon with.

I didn't, in my "analysis." You will note that I mentioned that they could, in fact, finish 13-3, in which case the Patriots would have to win out and rely on the head-to-head tiebreaker to get a higher seed than Houston.

All you guys should have some concern.

When our HOF QB doesn't show up until the last 5 minutes of an away game against a nemesis and team still pulls it out...

just sayin.

Oh and I have a major headache today.
