WEEK 12 · Cardinals at Patriots -Sun 11/29 · 1:00 PM EST

Until Cam fixes his godawful throwing mechanics, I don't see him having any consistent success as a passer
I cannot really speak on mechanics, I just think he needs to be able to read defenses faster and get rid of the ball. Thats really where I see the issue, just late passes. This is not an offense that you can have a lot of success in if your passes are late. Its very timing based.

I mean cam is what he is as a passer. He’s not going to improve in his 30s. He’s been better than I expected actually.
I don’t know what other QB could take this putrid offense and win. He’s not the long term answer, but he’s good enough to let guys develop while a the long term answer is found.

Geez what exactly were you expecting? The Pats have a bottom 5 passing game in the league. lol. I was expecting it to be better honestly, but then I thought his pocket awareness would be better, or that he could run to extend plays and let guys get open. That has not really been the case. I am not sure how worse you expected it because its pretty bad.

At this point I would be amazed if Cam got a 10 mil offer here next year. Maybe if every other passable qb is gone and Dallas offers him 9.5 mil. Cam is not the answer for this offense and trying to make him fit will only hinder the rebuild. I don't know the answer, but I do not believe it is Cam.

Statistically, the only QB worse than Newton with similar number of attempts is Sam Darnold.

I wasn't a fan of the signing but was optimistic and pleasantly surprised after those first couple of games. At this point though, I'm not seeing much from him. I don't care how bad the WRs are on paper, the eyeball test is telling me that he's holding them back more than they are holding him back right now.

Bill really needs to go to Stidham. I mean how much worse can it be? Newton tried every way possible to give that game away with the defense playing amazing and the STs totally dominating. We have just about the worst QB play of any team other than the Jets.

The tell-tale sign was the last drive of the game where we were basically just running the clock out to play for OT but Arizona took that stupid time out on third down which allowed Newton to run for it and get that roughing call which put us in FG position. That is how little confidence Josh had in Newton passing the ball at that point. We were very lucky and I will take the win every time but we really need to make a change at QB.

I have to be honest, I do not think it really matters now to go to stidham. You might as well just let Cam run out the string and see how it goes. This is a year in which its time to try things, but just not sure Bill thinks Stidham is ready and might not want to hurt his confidence. Yeah they were going to run and see if anything broke on the last drive, and boy were zona fans mad at that personal foul they called, they kept talking about he was 3 feet in bounds when he was hit, but I think they called the helmet to helmet which this year I have no idea how that call works because I see it not called and then I see it called at times when its not.

I agree about trying new things which is why I would put Stidham in. I don't see how it hurts his confidence given he was third string to start the season. I think getting some playing time would help him and be a show of faith by the coaching.

i dont think so no way GIF

I think Cam is suffering from paralysis from analysis and that's why he just stands in the pocket forever and doesn't make an attempt to get away from the rush until it's way too late. No idea what the coaches are telling him to do, but he's clearly not comfortable nor confident. The fact that Pats are finding ways to win despite that is pretty remarkable. If Cam ever gets comfortable in the offense, things might get interesting. But as of now he's basically a work in progress with a ton of question marks. Overall I think he's handled it as well as he could, but you can really see the struggles.

It seems to me that they are still trying to run the Brady offense with him and I have no idea why. Norv Turner got great production out of him for half of season until the shoulder injury. He had him throwing to the RBs and lots of screens and check downs. We are totally designed for this type of offense. We should be looking to get the ball to James White all day long. It does seem guys are open and Cam just is afraid to pull the trigger. I have no idea why. I really thought our coaching staff would have gotten so much more out of him but it seems things are going the other way. I do agree that we would be dangerous with just competent QB play. Does not appear that is happening.

I kind of agree with the Zona fans. If the defender did not lower his helmet, at that time Cam was a runner not a qb. That makes it a legal hit.

I think the locker room believes in Cam. I think free agents will be watching to see if the coaching staff follows through on their commitment to him, and I think cams gonna gave better days. Plus at this point a few more losses means it’s easier to get the QB of the future. It’s worth sticking with Cam.
If a change needs to be made wait for Cam to get a minor injury and blame the change on that. I wouldn’t outright bench him for poor play. The guys giving everything he can.

The locker room will go with whoever is playing. This is not one of those locker rooms that will bitch and moan about a player like others would.

I guess I just dont know the rule. I saw a sack a couple weeks ago and the player blitzed and sacked the QB, had his arms up and everything, their facemask touched and I mean just touched and they called roughing the passer with the QB having the ball in his hand. I am just not sure what you can do. I heard the rule was, if you had your hands down and lead with your head, they will call it, but I dont know. The foul would have had to have been that because Cam was not close to being out of bounds.

He was a runner at that time, not a qb. I just can't believe that the Pats can still win the division.

I mean I think there are only like 2 teams in the NFL eliminated. Pats would have to win the rest of their games and hope Buffalo and Miami go on a losing streak, I guess anything is possible. The pats play the Rams, buffalo, miami, chargers and jets. That would be something if they dont come out of that with 1 loss.

Really nice win yesterday. Despite the poor offensive showing, wins like that are fun to watch. I’ll say this. I didn’t expect it, and the teams been doing a lot better recently than I thought was possible.
There’s no reason to keep Harry around. He’s bad. At least Sony doesn’t see the field anymore.
I couldn’t help but wonder how much Murray’s AC injury was affecting him. I read various things about it during the week in terms of how severe it was. At a minimum I think it contributed to his inconsistency, and probably made him reluctant to run like he really can for fear of taking a bad hit.

As fun as it was watching yesterday, with the playoffs out of the picture I can’t help but wonder if these useless wins just put a good QB farther and farther out of reach.

I like Cam, and I hope he’s back for a year or two, but I think we all know he’s not the long term answer towards reaching the super bowl again.
Separated AC joint isn't terrible. I did my right one falling into the boards. I didn't miss a shift, but it hurt enough that I became more careful. Still bothers me when I throw a football in the yard. He HAD to be aware of it yesterday. That said, common for running backs. Deal with it while playing and get the arthritic rubbing bones clipped when playing days are over.
