I cannot really speak on mechanics, I just think he needs to be able to read defenses faster and get rid of the ball. Thats really where I see the issue, just late passes. This is not an offense that you can have a lot of success in if your passes are late. Its very timing based.
Geez what exactly were you expecting? The Pats have a bottom 5 passing game in the league. lol. I was expecting it to be better honestly, but then I thought his pocket awareness would be better, or that he could run to extend plays and let guys get open. That has not really been the case. I am not sure how worse you expected it because its pretty bad.
Bill really needs to go to Stidham. I mean how much worse can it be? Newton tried every way possible to give that game away with the defense playing amazing and the STs totally dominating. We have just about the worst QB play of any team other than the Jets.
The tell-tale sign was the last drive of the game where we were basically just running the clock out to play for OT but Arizona took that stupid time out on third down which allowed Newton to run for it and get that roughing call which put us in FG position. That is how little confidence Josh had in Newton passing the ball at that point. We were very lucky and I will take the win every time but we really need to make a change at QB.
I have to be honest, I do not think it really matters now to go to stidham. You might as well just let Cam run out the string and see how it goes. This is a year in which its time to try things, but just not sure Bill thinks Stidham is ready and might not want to hurt his confidence. Yeah they were going to run and see if anything broke on the last drive, and boy were zona fans mad at that personal foul they called, they kept talking about he was 3 feet in bounds when he was hit, but I think they called the helmet to helmet which this year I have no idea how that call works because I see it not called and then I see it called at times when its not.
I agree about trying new things which is why I would put Stidham in. I don't see how it hurts his confidence given he was third string to start the season. I think getting some playing time would help him and be a show of faith by the coaching.
It seems to me that they are still trying to run the Brady offense with him and I have no idea why. Norv Turner got great production out of him for half of season until the shoulder injury. He had him throwing to the RBs and lots of screens and check downs. We are totally designed for this type of offense. We should be looking to get the ball to James White all day long. It does seem guys are open and Cam just is afraid to pull the trigger. I have no idea why. I really thought our coaching staff would have gotten so much more out of him but it seems things are going the other way. I do agree that we would be dangerous with just competent QB play. Does not appear that is happening.
I kind of agree with the Zona fans. If the defender did not lower his helmet, at that time Cam was a runner not a qb. That makes it a legal hit.
The locker room will go with whoever is playing. This is not one of those locker rooms that will bitch and moan about a player like others would.
I guess I just dont know the rule. I saw a sack a couple weeks ago and the player blitzed and sacked the QB, had his arms up and everything, their facemask touched and I mean just touched and they called roughing the passer with the QB having the ball in his hand. I am just not sure what you can do. I heard the rule was, if you had your hands down and lead with your head, they will call it, but I dont know. The foul would have had to have been that because Cam was not close to being out of bounds.
He was a runner at that time, not a qb. I just can't believe that the Pats can still win the division.
I mean I think there are only like 2 teams in the NFL eliminated. Pats would have to win the rest of their games and hope Buffalo and Miami go on a losing streak, I guess anything is possible. The pats play the Rams, buffalo, miami, chargers and jets. That would be something if they dont come out of that with 1 loss.
Separated AC joint isn't terrible. I did my right one falling into the boards. I didn't miss a shift, but it hurt enough that I became more careful. Still bothers me when I throw a football in the yard. He HAD to be aware of it yesterday. That said, common for running backs. Deal with it while playing and get the arthritic rubbing bones clipped when playing days are over.
