Mac has to have a roster about as good as he had in Bama to be any good…and that’s not going to happen. At least in NE.There is plenty of truth in that for sure. The whole "he was a first rounder so we have to play him" is nauseating. Maybe pick better? I was ecstatic when they got Mac at 15. Was a bit torn between him and Fields, but thought that Mac would be "Brady lite". Cerebral, better arm than people think and might develop into a stud top 10 QB.
Had questions the first year, saw through the Matty P and Joey J crapfest to the underpinnings, then was totally out very early this season.
It's not going to happen on any team in the NFL. it can't due to the cap, draft and FA.Mac has to have a roster about as good as he had in Bama to be any good…and that’s not going to happen. At least in NE.
His PTSD issues are a whole other topic.
It's a QB driven league. The QB has to elevate the rest of the team. The closest team IMO to a complete team is the Niners and also the Eagles. The Ravens have a lot of nice pieces too on both sides of the ball. It's not going to happen on any team in the NFL. it can't due to the cap, draft and FA.
Hey now, I was trying to be nice to Mac…but, yeah. Salary cap and all of that. It's not going to happen on any team in the NFL. it can't due to the cap, draft and FA.
Zappe is worse. Better get Grier up to speed.Zappe is worse.
That was a tank reset year and they went 7-9. That's what Cam was here for. They had no shot at Lawrence.TL is the guy they should have gotten instead of the wasted Cam year.

I don't think Stidham's bad enough to go 1-15, which is what you would have had to do, but we've had this discussion before.Exactly, but, that’s the past now.
Reset the cap, loading up for Brady had us in 2000-level territory.Yeah but a reset to what? He wasn't the LT answer. Oh well can't change the past it is what it is.
I'm still on Team Mac Jones. Not that he's playing well. He isn't. But I still believe he has what it takes. I don't think he's a "Goldilocks" as someone says. I think his confidence was destroyed last year. It could be the kiss of death - Patrick Ramsey and David Carr were two QBs among many who never recovered.

I'm hoping BB doesn't use our 2024 top 3-4 picks we have on defense.
Until the start of next season, I think there's still a chance.
And yes, I know what that sounds like:

As a once fun and exciting thread, grinds slowly to a close?
Cheers?

Eh, the past. But, it would have been more fun though.I don't think Stidham's bad enough to go 1-15, which is what you would have had to do, but we've had this discussion before.
