It is a funny thing to see a man who was so evil become so helpless. A man whose first random act of violence was to show me what the ranger choke hold was and explain how it would kill me in minutes and to never forget that know that I could kill him with one punch now. A man who forced me to do whatever he wanted can't even wipe his own ass.

Nobody will ever understand the hell I lived and the demons I fought and what it took to get me to where I am. But here I stand. Successful, happy and I have the love and respect of 2 amazing sons. There he sits, unable to do anything alone, no friends, no family..just a whole ball of nothing. All of his control is gone and he lives daily with the knowledge that I did the one thing he said I never would. I survived.

Pity that he is so weak that if you were to kill him it would no longer be self defense. Congrats and props to you for surviving and becoming stronger.:thumb:

I know I joke around a lot and stuff but today really reminded me of one thing I lose sight of.....

I kick a million flavors of ass and I am perfectly okay with saying that. :)

you are an amazing woman, You should be proud of what you made yourself and the positive influence you are on your two sons.
 
Last night, a co workers fiance was wondering how QR codes worked and if his phone worked. So I made one. Since he was a Bears fan, I made one appropriate for him. If you have a code reader, you will like it, if not, I will post the website it took him to last night later on.

There isn't enough chocolate in the world to satisfy the craving I have for it today. Must have been the adrenaline from seeing the snake that has me all hungry.

ROFL I have been trying to post the awesome pic of the diamondback I saw on my hike this morning..more accurately almost stepped on..but I can't seem to upload ANY pics today. You have such a dirty mind.

BTW? Not being too dramatic but had I been bitten by that thing I am not sure I would have gotten to the hospital in time since I was in the freaking middle of NOWHERE. Needless to say my hiking days are over until it gets MUCh colder here. So nyah.:) :hug:

You should stick to well-used trails and wear over the ankle boots. I learned that the hard way since I tend to move fairly quietly, and have scared teh shit out of snakes a time or two... not good. If they know you're coming, they'll normally leave/avoid you...

I wouldn't give up hiking though. Just, you know, be more careful and wear boots they can't bite through :D

I am not giving up on hiking just waiting another week or so until the suckers are in hibernation. I have hiking boots and wear long thick socks but it is just scary coming that close and I can wait another little bit.:)

I hate well used trails though because I want to get away from people and the trails right outside my door provide me with peace and quiet and a chance to get away from it all for a few hours.

if the heat persists and I just can't keep away I will go to one of the people spots but since it is bloody OCT 17..the heat wave SHOULD be over soon.:)
 
I got hit by an eastern version during military training. It hit me over my combat boots through my cammies. My advice is to avoid the experience at all costs. Three weeks in the hospital sucks.

Night vision tomahawk!:insane::toast: On a more serious note, PAZ, I assume that you carry a snake bite kit but maybe you should talk to your doctor about prescribing an antivenin kit that you could carry for emergencies. A 357 loaded with snake shot is also very useful.

I don't carry anything but water and my phone. I didn't know you could easily get a snake bite kit and antivenum is very expensive like in the 10's of thousands no?

Most people get but because they don't see the snake before they step on it..so a gun won't help much in that regard.

Same thing with the mountain lions.:)
