The 2023 Season NFL Playoffs Thread

He is. But seriously, the "fans" pelting Mahommes with snowballs?? And the announcers pretending they didn't see it?? (n)

You're never going to get candid commentary from Nantz and Motormouth. They are total NFL shills and want
to make sure that nothing, like honesty/controversy mars the shiny perfection of the big production.

I was laughing when Romo was eagerly anticipating the pylon cam view on Kelce's dive across the goal line. The
clip started and then, somewhat mysteriously, stopped before the money shot. Instead of doing what anybody
should have, questioning why the clip just stopped like that before we got a clear answer, Romo started tap-dancing
and saying, well, it looked like a TD. Nothing to see here, folks. Moving along.

I think it probably was a TD, but something about that made me wonder. Like maybe all the paranoia
and/or worries that the NFL is crooked and New York control yelled "ABORT! ABORT" into the headsets
feeling like the replay was going to reverse their preferred result. A Chiefs TD and more people bundling
their home and auto insurance.

Perhaps there was a technical explanation, but the tens of millions of viewers never got to hear what it was and
Nantz and Romo weren't about to question anything. Nobody should be surprised that they weren't going to
smear the "good name" of Bill's Mafia even though they acted like juvenile idiots in that circumstance.

It's a good thing Mahomes or somebody didn't lose an eye to an iceball and have to miss the rest of the
playoffs. Then, the shit would've hit the fan. Yeah, Chris Jones and others were egging them on once the
result was clear, but the snowballs started raining down much earlier and it was just morons being morons.

To be clear, I've seen the same thing happen in Foxboro. Our idiots are just as stupid as theirs.

just one thing in possible defense of that pylon replay.... seems like this year I noticed they don't like to show when the pylon cam gets nailed and the picture does the expected wonky thing a camera will do when it gets hit by an NFL player. I think that's cool but I swear I've noticed they show right up to contact then stop it.
maybe it's just me :coffee:

Brock Purdy just said that the Niners wanted Brady to be their starter in 2023.

I can't understand how ANY Bills fan thought that kick was going to be good. I was telling my son "NO chance. None. Zero. Nada."

I laughed my ass off when it sliced.
`I told my kid the same thing. I threw my hands up and told her he's gonna miss it and he did

The fake punt was the worst move. It wasn't the deciding play, but set up an uphill climb from that point on.

The fact that Hamlin got the ball bothered me. It was a long way to the sticks and running with the ball is not Damar's forte. It struck me as sort
of a vanity ploy by McDermott to not only trick KC, but to sort of send a message of redemption to the world at the same time when the fact is that
Hamlin arguably wasn't the best option to get a first down. What was he thinking? The percentages were way too low.

I know that a lot happened after that, but if he was afraid that your depleted D couldn't stop Mahomes then he definitely didn't help the
situation by handing them way better field position.

I mean, you're a hero if it works and all that, but only that unlikely touchback at the goal line prevented that stupid call from
being the lead story of the game. McDermott should send Bass an edible arrangement for saving him from wearing the goat horns,
although I still think he deserves them.

It was a real pity because it was the best game of the year, imo, and would have been even better if the Bills won and beat those guys. Now everything
has turned to shit. Not a great takeaway to a fine season.
The wors part is, yeah another Bills loss just prolongs the torment from other team's fans but mostly, I just stop giving a crap about Football after their season ends and I wasn't ready to stop giving a crap about Football yet.
Plus now the rest of winter is gonna drag ass

I spent a winter in Watertown, trust me, that, I understand. Stay warm.

Perhaps the hubris of Bills fans will come down several levels this offseason .
Perhaps.

I don't know any Bills fans that don't expect the worst outcome.

Are they excited to have a good QB & a team that's in the mix? Sure. But most wait for the other shoe to drop, always.

One thing occurred to me watching that Detroit Lions game:

The Pats definitely signed the wrong Melifonwu. I hate when that happens. So close. Do you think some scout just got the names
Obi and Ifeatu confused? I mean, that's a lot of vowels.

Another thought was that the Lions can definitely beat San Francisco and that would make for a Super Bowl underdog story, which works for me.
It would have been an even better one if the Bills could have snuck somehow in there, because obviously the winner of that game finally gets off the schnide
for their first ring, but that's not happening.

If people are excited for a Niners/Ravens matchup then they probably didn't watch Baltimore beat their asses a few weeks ago and
I can't see it going any differently in Vegas,

I can't stand the Ravens because of Harbaugh, but the thought of KC going with a State Farm, Taylor and Trav storyline is possibly even worse.

Go NFC, I guess....preferably Detroit.

Maybe CERN can Mandela effect the prediction of Ravens over the 49ers superb owl…into the Lions over the Chefs instead? 🤔

lol I'm in Central, IL. Our winter is over in a few weeks, typically but I have a Lake House about 30 minutes North of Watertown, NY. Ice doesn't normally melt there until late April
