Well, it's the off season, so these are the things that get talked about, while waiting for some real news. IMO, there seems to be only one good owner at the moment (Wyc), but others may have different opinions.

If it weren't for the NHL salary cap, the answer would be Jeremy Jacobs.

But Krafty Bob, you can thank your lucky orchids for John Henry. While the Patriots dynasty was ultimately going to come to an end, John Henry and his merry band of idiots traded a generational talent for pennies on the dollar, took a winning franchise down to the studs in order to rebuild the farm system, and didn't do much to infuse a lot of hope this past off-season either. We're 4 full seasons since the Mookie Betts trade and the Sox have finished in last place 3 of those 4 seasons with no sign of a revitalization at the big league level any time soon. I appreciate the championships but they are not operating under the same philosophy as they had in the years in between those seasons, they are pinching pennies.

Henry's group ran off baseball fans from Fenway a decade ago. I honestly can't blame him for trying to maximize profits at this point. The people who go to games don't care about the team or the games - so putting a competitive product on the field is secondary to the bottom line.

So it's slightly different than Kraft's position. If the Patriots are bad, ticket sales will plummet. There's nobody who goes to the games just to see Gillette Stadium. Not sure if he knows that yet or not. No idea what the season ticket sales are like - but you're going to see empty seats in November if they're bad again.

Accurate - however, he was the driving force behind getting the salary cap implemented, and has spent to the cap every year since it has been. A curious story to be sure. There was no one cheaper than Jeremy Jacobs pre-cap though, that's for sure.

I was wondering why he built that new lighthouse at Gillette. 🤔

John Henry is the correct answer, but I voted for Bob Kraft because sometimes if you are really ripshit about something then "correct"
isn't really that important.

One is a twerpy weasel on the spectrum that takes advantage of a lifetime of Red Sox worship to make fat stacks and one is a guy that pretends to be a kindly old grandpa
who tells adorable stories of how he is just a regular guy that got lucky that his ass didn't get frozen to an aluminum bench while he now gets drunken hand-dukies from
human trafficking victims while trying to remember if he made his new trophy wife sign a pre-nup.

It's john Henry and it isn't close. i hate that prick.

As s soccer fan I would rate them from worst to best:
1. Kraft - Rev
2. Henry
3. Kraft
4. Jacobs
5. Grousbeck

I was psyched for this FA period. We had cap space up the wazoo, a GM that promised to weaponize the offense, and a head coach that wanted to burn some cash. All we needed was to pick up a quality FA OT and WR. That should have been easy because there is no way we could be outbid with our cap space. Instead, the cap-hell Jets got them...shit, even the even-deeper-cap-hell Bills got good FA WR.

Now I'm afraid to watch the draft because we're probably going to trade down and draft 4 strong safeties in the second round because ... value.

I've made a million excuses for stuff the Pats have done over the years. I think I became convinced that whatever Bill did, as crazy as it seemed at the time,
would ultimately prove to be a smart move or at least his percentage of mistakes seemed very low over the balance of his time here.

Having said that, there have been times in recent years where I started to doubt what the hell he was doing and saw my concerns eventually turn out
to be major problems -- which is what we are attempting to climb out of now.

I don't feel obligated to give the Mayo/Wolf regime much slack (they haven't earned that), but I can't blame them for skipping on the top FA OTs. I know,
Tyron Smith, but he's not the guy he was (imo) and Jonah Williams seems to get killed every time I watch him. Both are former high picks and would have
been pricey additions. Now, why they signed the guy Orohoro or whatever his name is, is a complete mystery because I saw him get benched this past season
and he doesn't seem any better than the herd of scrubs we already had. We don't need numbers there -- we need somebody that we can depend on and there isn't a
single guy available who figures to be that guy.

I have to believe the plan is that we will get some talented rookies in the draft, at least one guy who can play and probably a double dip. If that doesn't happen
I will be frustrated as hell, because, right now, we're very likely worse than last year.

My views on the WRs are similar although there are a couple of better options in FA to add an X that can force teams to cover them.

We've got 3 positions to fix, but WR is 3rd on my list right now. Without fixing the first two I don't believe investing in a stud X is going to move the
needle much because we still won't be functional.

It ain't over yet, but I admit that I can't see what they seem to have in mind.

Like I've been saying, they had 3 major needs going into 2024, OT, QB, WR probably in that order - a complete dearth of talent in all three position groups.

They addressed it with Brissett, Osborn and that Chewbacca guy. You could argue that's putting bandaids on a stab wound.

I'm still of the opinion, that if you stay at 3 - you take best offensive player available, regardless of position, whomever has the highest grade. Because there's a lack of skill and talent. It looks like they're going to stay at 3 and take RG3----er--- Jayden Daniels. Flyer in the 2nd on a WR, and hope to get tackle help day 3 - but something else that needs to be addressed is deep safety, there's currently no one there to play that position, and even with Marcus Jones and Gonzalez coming back, you're still going to need a boundary corner, somewhere, a somewhat competent one, since Jack Jones is gone.

If they draft a linebacker in any round, I'm going to lose my shit.
