The 2024 Draft

CJ Stroud had Olave, Wilson, JSN and Marvin Harrison jr.

Joe Burrow had Chase and Jefferson.

AJ Brown played with DJ Metcalf at Ole Miss.

Tua had great wr’s.

It is not like the LSU WR class is absurd historically.

You have to throw Mac with Devonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle into the convo.

Sure, but Tua had Josh Jacobs, Damien Harris, Devonta Smith, Calvin Ridley, Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs against Georgia in the chip in 2018, The next year they had the same running backs plus Najee Harris, Waddle instead of Ruggs, and Irv Smith. Those teams had far, far more talent than Jayden Daniels.

I think Pennix had similar talent, slightly less at wr and more everywhere else, played worse defenses and had a much better offense scheme.

It's draft week.

There's a Safety from Utah named Sione Vaki who also played at RB and KR for them and if Bill was still here I'd be penciling Vaki in as one of his
classic versatility picks, which is how I nailed the Marcus Jones selection. Now, who knows?

Everything has changed. It's a lot.
I expect that we will be selecting players with a high RAS scores throughout the draft. I am looking forward to it.

Hope they draft a CB that’s not a midget. Those small guys always seem hurt.

Remember when they drafted Bruschi after drafting Ted Johnson the prior year. Bruschi was a terror as a DE in college. After the draft a lot of the media were asking why did they draft another LB. The Pats said “just watch”.
Was that Bucko Kilroy?

Anyway, hoping they draft another player with similar upside at any position.

Your points are well made, but when I look at this year's QBs I see that Daniels and Penix had tremendous skill guys and Caleb, J.J. and Nix's were really good. Maye
had Walker (and Josh Downs in '22) but seems to have had, overall, less talent to work with and the real question is how you choose to view their body of work when
they were throwing to a lot of NFL draft picks (many high ones) running routes against guys who mostly will not be.

This is one of the reasons why I support Maye as our choice. He, by most accounts, did quite well without dominant skill guys or comparable OLs and if he ends up here that
experience in trying to cobble an offense together to scratch out a win will serve him well until we can get shit squared away.

Also, for the record, the closer we get to draft day, without a trade-down announced - the likelihood of a trade-down becomes less and less.

A trade-down from 3 with a big pick/player package in return isn't going to happen on draft night. They're going to take a player.

I've never really been a big draft day guy only due to the fact that the Pats are usually on the tail end of day 1 but this year is so much different and I'm pretty excited to see who they will pick or what they might do with their #3 pick.

Normally I agree, but if the Patriots are waiting to see who will be there, or another team only wants to trade up if someone specific is there, it would have to wait till they are on the clock. The QBs that are likely to be there at 3 are all pretty different, and it is very possible a team is interested in one but not another.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that rugby players, wrestler projects, division 3 stretch picks, and unknown players from Rutgers are not in the draft mix for the Patriots this year.
Is this a karma post? If so, we're doooooomed.
