Celtics

Yeah, that's why I'm asking. Are the Cs all vaxxed? A bunch of guys didn't play in Toronto, though I know there were pre-existing injuries.
They were asked this exact question in the last 48 hours and the organization would not confirm, either way (so that's gotta be a big, fat no).

Reportedly, J. Brown, for one, is not.

Yeah, I thought there was a statement to the effect that everyone would have been eligible to play in Toronto if they were healthy. But it seems like they're pretty wiggly on a definitive answer.

The Celtics won't go anywhere. Until they figure out how to play. In the last 5 minutes of close games.

They need to stop whining about every non call. Just about everything else is good.
They lack poise and composer. If things don't go their way in close games in the 4th. They come unglued.

Yeah, that’s been an issue the last three months.

We will see what happens in the playoffs when it matters. I think they lack mental toughness.

Heat and Celtics have 3 games remaining, Bucks and Sixers each have 4. Heat have a walk in the park, along with a 2-game lead. The battle is for 2nd and the Celts @ Bucks game on Thurs looms large. Curious to see how they approach Wednesday's game @ the Bulls before traveling to Milwaukee on Thursday. Sure would have been nice to steal that game in Toronto last week.

Celts have the Bulls tonight and the Buck's tomorrow. Huge 24-hour stretch for this team.

The bad news is that they also play the Grizzlies to close out the season, but the Griz have the #2 seed locked up and cannot move up or down; they aren't likely to bring it in that game.

I say keep the pedal to the metal right to the end. Trying to wrangle to meet team A rather than team B can backfire on them. I respect all of the teams who are bunched up, but I don't fear any of them. The huge fear of the Nets that so many fans spout is head-scratching to me. Are they dangerous? Sure, but so are several other Eastern teams.

Saw a story that brown and horford not vaxxed
both of them dance around it when asked
makee a potential raptors series interesting

Good road win that, Horford with 17 points and 10 rebounds. 50 wins baby.

In a 117-94 domination of the Chicago Bulls, the Celtics reached 50 wins, improving to 50-30 this season, behind 25 from Jaylen Brown. The 50-win season was the first for Boston since 2017-18.

The 25 from Brown was his 10th straight 25-point performance. Jayson Tatum had a near-triple double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.

Marcus Smart was the only Celtics’ starter to not score in double figures. In a great game for the double bigs, Al Horford scored 17 with 10 rebounds and Daniel Theis played well against his former team, putting up 15 points and six rebounds.

The last matchup between Boston and Chicago was Jan. 15, 2022, with a lot different since then. Since that game, the Celtics were 27-8 and the Bulls were 18-20.

Boston was without Robert Williams, Nik Stauskas and Juwan Morgan, while Chicago was missing Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso and Matt Thomas.

Chicago entered the game ranked second in the NBA in field-goal percentage, at 47.9%. DeMar DeRozan, the league’s sixth leading scorer (28.2), is a big reason for that. The Celtics looked to counter that offense with the NBA’s best defense in net rating. Brown scored 25 or more in the last nine consecutive games.

The Celtics started off playing off the Chicago mistakes. The Boston defense forced three turnovers, which led to four easy points. Up 13-6, Smart had three assists on the team’s five made baskets.

After 39 assists on 56 made baskets in a 42-point blowout against Washington, the Celtics carried that momentum into Chicago early.

Lots of talk over C's being better off as the 3-seed, match-up-wise. I don't like the idea risking home court advantage in any future rounds to play match-up. Finish ahead of Milwaukee and hope someone does you a favor and knocks off the Heat. Celts have to win tonight because the Bucks would have a tie-breaker advantage in head-to-head, should they lose.

Celtics played outstanding last night without Tatum and Horford.

Though the defense kinda took the night off.

Too many turnovers as well. But have to think they'd fare better with those 2 + Robert Williams. This still makes me nervous because Sixers should beat the Pacers and Pistons, so now the C's have to beat the Grizzlies. Granted, the Grizzlies have nothing to play for, but that can't be a "maintenance day" for the Celtics starters. Hope the Griz lay down so the 2nd half can be a bench game. Fingers crossed.

I remember having a conversation with a HS friend that I consider one of the more knowledgeable basketball people I know early in the season when it felt like an eternity before the Celtics were able to sneak about .500 for the first time (believe it was right around Thanksgiving) where I said I would be willing to give this team until the AS break considering all that changed during the off-season. Kudos to Udoka and Co. because storming back to win 50 games after that kind of start is Moneyball-esque.
