An argument for Steve B staying is to prove himself as a DC without being under his father's shadow. Presumably, he worked well with Mayo and now they both get titles and the good defense can continue.
I've seen the argument that with a young defensive HC, you want a former HC as OC, and they have that with BoB, plus he is under contract.
Mayo becomes the youngest HC in the league. If he is as brilliant as many are saying, the Pats could be good at the position for a very long time. Say what you will about the Steelers, but they have done very well by committing at HC for the long term and more teams would be smart to do that.
Just need to revamp the scouting here. I've read that it wasn't all the scouting being an issue, but BB would override their recommendations. That could just be propaganda though.
I also slightly disagree with those that call Kraft cheap. The Pats set a record in 2021 with the $160 million spend. The problem was so many of those choices weren't good ones.
