Sources tell ESPN's Mike Wells that Trent Richardson struggled with weight issues last season and was "difficult to get in touch with."

Listed at 225, T-Rich reportedly ballooned all the way up to 240, and was seen running sprints after practice to work on his "conditioning." The Colts were also miffed when Richardson missed the team's walk-though the day before the AFC Championship Game. That earned Richardson a two-game suspension. The Colts can void the $3.1 million in guaranteed money Richardson is owed next season, though the Players Association would probably appeal that decision. Either way, the mega-bust isn't long for Indy. Feb 9 - 1:40 PM

Inflation issues rampant in Coltsville :coffee:

It's been 16 years since the AFC West has had a SB Champ, the longest divisional SB winning drought in the league.

Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell settled the legal issues stemming from his August arrest for marijuana possession and DUI on Friday.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Bell was admitted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program for first-time, non-violent offenders after appearing before Common Pleas Judge Robert C. Gallo.
Under the terms of the program, Bell’s record will be cleared if he remains out of trouble during 15 months of probation. During that period, Bell must abstain from drugs and alcohol, complete any recommended treatment and take a safe driving class. His drivers license has also been suspended for 60 days.

“He’s relieved to have the matter finally resolved with the opportunity to earn dismissal and expungement,” Bell’s attorney Robert Del Greco said. “I expect Le’Veon will not be a repeat offender.”

Bell now faces possible league sanctions for his plea. Had Bell reached a deal before November 1, he would have had a better chance of avoiding a league suspension but the new substance-abuse policy calls for a two-game suspension for players found legally responsible for driving under the influence.

The worst guy for the Colts to pursue is also the guy they need to get to the Super Bowl.

Ndamukong Suh is the wrong guy – no, the worst guy – for the Colts to pursue this offseason. He's violent, cruel. Dirty. We don't tolerate players like that around here.
Thing is, Ndamukong Suh is the right guy – no, the perfect guy – for the Colts to sign this offseason. He's disruptive, gifted. Dominant. The Colts need a player like that around here.
So for the Colts, what it comes down to is this: How badly do they want to be great?

Sign Suh, a free agent after five years in Detroit – and four Pro Bowls at defensive tackle – and sell your soul to whatever demons drive him to greatness and beyond. But win, baby. Sign Suh, and win. Win big. Win it all? Yeah, maybe so. Shortly after Super Bowl 49, odds makers in Las Vegas installed the Seahawks as a 5-to-1 favorite to win Super Bowl 50. The champion Patriots are 6-to-1.
The Colts are 12-to-1.

INDIANAPOLIS STAR
Insider: Colts free agent wish list should start with Ndamukong Suh

Sign Suh, and that number could be – should be – cut in half. He's that good, and that perfect for what ails the Colts. And you know what ails the Colts? It's more than a lack of disruptive talent on defense.
It's nastiness.

Quick, name one nasty player for the Colts. Just one. Name one guy who strikes fear into the other team, not fear from talent but fear from volatility. Name one Colt who plays with such a ferocious edge that he's in the opponent's head before the game even starts.
Other than cornerback Vontae Davis, name one Colts defender who must be accounted for, dealt with, avoided by the opposing offense.

There isn't a Colts defender like that other than Davis, who can be avoided without the opponent having to pay a premium. Did Tom Brady pay a premium for avoiding Davis twice this season – or for that matter for avoiding shutdown Seattle corner Richard Sherman in the Super Bowl? A cornerback can be avoided. At the snap he's 20 yards from the ball.
Ndamukong Suh is breathing on it.

The question here isn't one of need. Clearly the Colts defense, and defensive front, has a need. There are nice players up front, like Cory Redding and Arthur Jones. And Jonathan Newsome and Montori Hughes. Nice players, all. But not great. Not any of them. If outside linebacker Robert Mathis comes back after his Achilles' tear, he too ought to be a nice player. Will the 34-year-old, surgically repaired Mathis be a great player in 2015? Maybe.

The Colts can't bet their 2015 season on maybe.

The Pats with another connection to Rutgers?

McDaniels' younger brother is the new OC there.

Coincidence? ROFL

This would be the hot fudge, nuts, and cherry on top for when BB drops 70 in their house next year.

Broncos may not want PManning back

Citing "sources close to the team," Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reports there's a "big question" about whether the Broncos want Peyton Manning for 2015.

"At this point in his career, the Broncos could fail (Manning's physical) for any reason, including the four neck surgeries that he has already had," Cole said. "They're going to have to feel very comfortable about this." Manning's $19 million salary will no longer be guaranteed if he fails his physical. While Manning's health was an issue late in 2014, we find this report very had to believe. Until now, every utterance — both public and "sourced" — has suggested Denver desperately wants Manning back. Perhaps this is just a ploy to speed up Manning's decision. Manning will reportedly meet with GM John Elway before the Combine.

Personally, I think the Broncos leaked the story just to float the idea

QB By Committee <hr style="color:#FF0000" size="1"> I have read others think that Manning (if he returns), should sit for the first few games. What if he splits time with Brock? I see a scenario where Brock plays the first half of games, and Manning plays the 2nd half, until the playoffs, in which Manning would play the whole games. :dbanana: :jclap:

This would give Brock real time under center to mature, and Manning some rest.

They would obviously need to split snaps in practice with the first team.

That Colorado pot must be amazing.

Yep. I may not watch the regular season if that's the case because it will be just week after week of brown nosing and ball washing and seeing guys like Marshall Faulk and Warner blubbering on NFL Network.

I'll tune in come post season as Manning is never affective there of course.
