The years teach much which the days never know.
He did play well, but I can't get that last throw out of my head.
Not exactly Doug Flutie to Gerard Phelan.
My view of the call is also less about why and more about why then. For about 57 minutes, this was such an entertaining SB.
That Philly should have done a better job stopping KC, and the fact that many are annoyed over that flag are not mutually exclusive. Yes, Philly did a poor job. But the officials kept their flags in check over ticky-tack calls earlier in the game. I have no love for either of those franchises, and at no point was a rooting for one over the other, but I went from absolutely enjoying the hell out of this game to just about wanting to grab my coat.
I know the world seems divided on whether the call was just or not, I just find it odd that the first D hold call of the game comes in that situation. And I hated it when it happened, and I hated it this morning.
Remember those 2 pivot plays (return arrow) that led to easy TD throws by Mahomes that I mentioned yesterday?
Bieniemy installed those plays on Saturday night after watching the Jaguars use the basis for it against the Eagles in the 1st game of the season.

KC #85 at the 30 yard lineI was watching for something like that on the replay, didn't catch it but seemed a bit to "easy and convenient" at that exact moment in the game.
Thanks, I'll take another look at it.
Here's the same play the Jags used in the first game of the year

It was ruined long before then, they painted the logo's on the field which made it super slick, they were slipping and sliding the whole game.their field sucks.
it's one reason i loathe halftime shows, it ruins the field(even further)for the people who are actually there for a reason.
Tbf, that was an all star crewReferee Carl Cheffers' crews had gone 576 consecutive snaps without calling a defensive holding penalty before the decisive Super Bowl flag, per

There's a thought. So maybe the NFL should be investigating the motivation of the guy who called the penalty.
Why? The NFL already knows the motivation. So maybe the NFL should be investigating the motivation of the guy who called the penalty.
