Week 9 - Patriots @ Ratbirds, Sunday 11/3 8:20PM

I'm far from the fan that needlessly shits on the team for not being perfect, but let's not pretend like the offense has been stellar. Sure, there have been games where they have looked better, but the offense has been immensely aided by the defense. How many touchdowns have come from the defense and special teams? Also, how many drives have the offense capitalized off turnovers and a short field?

Not pretending that at all, been plenty of profanity hurled at my television so far this year.

...but, lets also not pretend that it's an AIDS-infested dumpster fire either

Four, They were calculated in my numbers.

...uhhh...that's kind of what you want. You don't want every drive starting at your own 20. EVERY team wants a short field for their offense, so I really don't understand what you're attempting to get at with this. That's one of the reasons you have those units on a team in the first place.

You tell'em mikie!! :toast:

To those doubting the Pats offense keep in mind. There is a different mindset when ahead by 2 TD plus. I am not sure we have seen what this offense is capable of. Historically this offense has put up its best numbers when it has needed them, and this season, that has not been the case. What we have seen is the offense on auto pilot.

I will admit that I have not like the way the offensive line has been losing battles at the line of scrimmage and that is concerning. Isaiah Wynn can't get back fast enough and I was surprised that BB didn't bolster the O line depth at the trading deadline.

As far as the Ravens, it seems to me that this might be Jamie Collins finest hour. He has the athleticism to disrupt Lamar Jackson and hopefully the team speed can keep him bottled up. If they can make him throw without leaving him escape routes to take off downfield I think they are in good shape.

When the opponents start flapping their gums, it is usually the first indicator of what is coming.

hopefully most of those (Brady and Jules in particular) are more like "rest" days so they put them on the report. no doubt there are legit bumps and bruises... hopefully not much worse then that. We'll know as the week goes on and we see who is still listed

Is that total PPG or PPG scored by offenses?

If the latter, that’s kind of a sad indictment of the rest of the league given how pedestrian this offense has looked at times haha

All teams are judged the same way and the pats lead the league in scoring. You can call it sad to average 31 points a game despite a revolving door at receiver, no run game and 4 backups playing oline, but I think that is pretty good actually

and how many games has the defense benefited from the offense not turning the ball over inside their own 20 and making the D defend a short field? It works both ways.

Is Lacosse just a rumor? I never really seen the guy out there playing.

This. I mean lets stop with the....OMG our first test. This ravens team lost by 2 td's to the browns at home. Can we stop acting like there are a bunch of the juggernauts out there that the pats have been lucky to not play? You know who this will be a tough game for? The ravens, why doesn't anyone ever say that?

If we lost ever game that Brady was on the injury list for on a shoulder, we would be the dolphins.

This is the game I've had my eye on all season.

I'm not sure the ravens are the juggernaut people are making them out to be. They went to OT with the steelers with a 3rd string QB, they barely beat zona, they barely beat the bengals, they lost by 2 td's to the browns. If that were the Patriots, this board would have disbanded.
