what are you listening to now?

We watched the Kennedy Center Honors last night, and one of the honorees was Led Zep. The tribute to them was fantastic, but I have to say I'm not sure I've ever seen a performance anywhere like the one that Heart gave in honor of them. This is a long video, but it's worth watching because it builds. I hope if you watch it you have good speakers. Phenomenal.

That has to be the best rocking out The Kennedy Center has ever had. Watching Led Zep made me cry.

Wow. What a spectacular performance.

I watched that last night too, PFL. Just incredible. When I saw Ann and Nancy Wilson were doing "Stairway", I knew it was going to be special. They were both heavily influenced by Led Zep, and they did a great cover of "Rock and Roll" years ago.

Saw them live two weeks ago and they were easily one of the best live metal bands I've ever seen. New album is superb, and Jari is a genius :)

I was going to say, they had covered Zeppelin before and done pretty well.
Rock and Roll was one, and I know for sure they did The Battle of Evermore. Might be more out there.

Woods of Ypres, a talented up and coming Canadian blackened doom metal band. Sadly, their vocalist/founder was killed in a car accident last year and the band has decided not to continue without him. Fortunately, Woods V (final release) is a phenomenal album with which to end the journey.

In the mood for instrumentals:

Two of the best CDs I bought this year.

This was recorded in Omaha back in the late 90s. Its an Omaha 1 hit wounder. Its a cool tune. Hope you all dig it.

Melodic Death Metal is full of boring, mediocre bands but this ain't one of them.

I have a Heart Bluray Concert video "Alive In Seattle" that is outstanding and they do some Led Zep songs....Highly recommend.

Working from home, and asked Mrs. TR to put on something that was melodic.

She picked Santana's "Best Instrumentals" out of the CD drawer.

Sometimes, life is good.
