A couple of questions from the rookie...

Is the history of the sex poll included in the history of the planet?

If not, where might one turn to fill in the gaps in his knowledge?

Will this be on the next quiz, or will it be covered on the final?

You, BD, and others...I believe there is a short history of what transpired at this time last year in the Falling Alice thread located in the Archives, no, Classic, no, Threads of Glory....something like that.

Basically, someone started a thread called the "Sex Thread".

It was fun and many were participating. That is, except the dark one.

One day while in a rage the dark one deleted it, but nobody knew.

Then someone started a thread "What Happened to the Sex Thread"

All hell broke lose.

Briefly.....

A little more than a year ago, a member posted a poll about the frequency that members had sex. The thread was semi-bawdy, but was enjoyed by most members. The former admin, whose name is rarely spoken, took offense to the poll. He eventually deleted it, which led someone to start a new thread entitled "What happened to the sex poll thread". This led to the membership taking offense to a thread being deleted simply because the admin didn't like it. Civil War (now known as The Troubles) ensued, the admin eventually was forced to either step down or see the end of the Planet, the Planet emerged with new leadership and has led to what it is today.

Not alot of detail here, but that's the brief synopsis.

I believe I have seen echos of this dark one while conducting my survey of the girlie pic thread....

Sounds reminiscent of the QB Wars which were once fought in every Patriots chat room and Bulletin Board between the Bedsonians and Bradyphiles.

Brother against Brother, Dark Times indeed, Ken Burns should be doing a PBS retrospective on this.

Not at all. In fact, after MGO's poll yesterday, I have been expecting her or someone to start a porn movie poll.

Conversations here are not really censored. The membership decides what it wants to talk about. Those topics that are popular stay near the top, those that aren't get pushed into obscurity.

In episodes 1-3 a promising young MOD (thought by some to be "The Chosen One"), succumbed to his rage and went over to the Dark Side. In episode 4, the true chosen one emerged and won his first battle, although in episode 5 the Dark Side regrouped to win a battle, but in episode 6, the Dark Side was defeated once and for all by the combined force of 25 MODs.
