As to those posters, yeah, it would be very great if they all returned. To the extent that their departure has something to do with the increased moderation of this site, I get why they would not be here.

I respect the mods and appreciate that they work very hard to make this place better. I just preferred less "advice" as to posting style, etc. So if those guys are gone because of that issue, I get it, and I hope they return. Deus Irae is another poster who I think was a casualty of the changes.

Edit: Silly me, I missed DI's post above when I wrote that. Guess my memory was correct.....

There are now rules in place that address those very issues. The incidents you speak of happened months ago (maybe even last year, I forget). When we drafted the rules, we specifically stated that they would not be applied retroactively and that everyone started with a clean slate. If violations happen going forward, they will be dealt with accordingly as you have learned by experience today.

Please let us know if there is any further confusion as to the actual happenings here and in the past as well as how the forums terms of service apply to current and past situations. Thanks.

RG I miss had only started to develop a understanding with the old timer as I also am one.
It is a sad fact however that it did not take long for the very reasons for the moderation adjustments to raise its nasty little head in the thread.
I had thought the Mods had given very clear information as to how things would be handled now. I also have noted that it is very easy to follow the simple guidelines they laid out. So please can we stop dumping the shit piles in to the threads. It really makes the threads stink.

Same planet, different worlds. I see what happened in this thread as an example of exactly what's wrong with the changes, not what's right with them. I had stayed around around out of politeness, to answer any responses to my post. Instead, I see mods issuing "warnings" about a pissing contest when there are much easier solutions.

What's happening to this place is a damned shame.

Sadly once again ignorance reared it's ugly head and took the thread off topic because someone doesn't know that the time and place was not here in this thread.

Next time one of these petty little battles arise I will ban at the least one member. Some of you need to learn some basic people skills, when to not enter a thread and shit in it

First, sorry for my part in the thread on Clare, RG and others being missed getting derailed. That was not my intention.

Second, PP accused me in the locked thread of being a liar when I said that I reached out to him about burying the hatchet. I can be accused of lots of stuff but one of them is not being a liar. Here is the Private Message I sent to PP on February 18 of this year.

I can't remember why we were arguing.

I do know that we both love the Pats and hate the Colts.

Seems silly to be quibbling.

Third, I'll give PP the benefit of the doubt and assume that he just forgot that I wrote him that PM.

Fourth, the offer still stands...There is absolutely no reason for anyone who is a passionate Patriots fan to be feuding with another such fan. You wrote in the last thread that you would have been receptive to such an offer. We will now see whether that was idle chit chat or you were being honest about that receptivity. I hope you were being honest about that as I see no reason to fight with you or anyone else with whom I share a great love of the Pats.

Fifth, I published this note because I don't appreciate being called a liar in internet public without the chance to reply.

Sixth, I hope the mods are OK with this thread as I really am not trying to stir things up. I'm looking to apologize for f'ing up a thread, correct the record and take a public shot at putting BS behind us.

The real issue is the way the mod's let you get away with hijacking threads, sending cowardly PM's, and just generally spitting in their eyes. Their inability to handle things properly,quickly, and quietly and letting things get out of hand, then grandstanding on the open forums and making things even worse is the real issue.

I can tell everyone who is interested that is not the way things get handled on another forum. That is why I am done posting here unless I see some changes.
