I'm having a real hard time with this.

Cheers, BostonTim

remember the Motto In Bill we trust. His track record with disgruntled players speaks for itself.

Yeah I know. But the perspective of this poll is strictly about your feelings as to having this turd as a NE Patriot. Everyone responding should assume for the purposes of this poll that it WILL work put. Bill may get him to play but he won't get him to be a good guy.

Cheers

As long as guys like Perrish (nice draft pick, Josh!) Cox and Aquib Talib are in the NFL AH isn't THE turd of the NFL but he's in the discussion.

For those with moral issues about this, punish yourself by not purchasing a Patriots' Super Bowl champion hat next February...

The only character issue I knew about was his raking his cleat on Gurode's (?) forehead, and I thought he was a pussy for doing it.

As for his attitude with Washington, I think Shanahan wanted respect from the players, but didn't return it in kind. Was Haynesworth right in giving up on the season? He paid dearly for it $$-wise.

Trading for Haynesworth is a lesson in acquired taste. I haven't had enough of a taste to decide if I like it or not.

You need one more:

He is the Champion turd of the whole NFL and I can get past it

NESN has a poll and it's running 90% in favor of Haynesworth.

I voted the 2nd option. Let's see if the Patriot Way can change the boy-beast.

None of the above. This would be my answer:

I don’t like the character aspect but if it works, it’s great. This is football.

No kidding, maybe its been too long since people saw the jets cartwheeling across our field last year. I hope he comes in with razor blades taped to his shoes.

Agree with this,

Guy's an a$$hole but who cares if he becomes a beast on this team!

heck, BB knows what hes doing plus i reckon even if it dont work out, he'll toss his a$$ out as an example to everyone else

as has already been pointed out, BB's record with these kinda players is good so fingers crossed but im thinking this one is his biggest risk, hopefully im wrong ofc

I think the reasons teams look for "character" guys isn't because they want choir boys, but rather because high character guys tend to do well while turds tends to clog up your franchise and they don't feel like plunging (how'd you like that metephor???)

Also depends on team makeup how many "characters" a team can handle IMO. Pats pre 08, maybe. Now, no.
I don't care that Spikes showed his wang off in some video or view it as he is too "low character". I know probably half the players or more use drugs (PEDS or controlled substances) of some kind. Those type things I just kind of accept as givens even though I wish they weren't. The thing is that I cannot see any evidence of Haynesworth as having great FOOTBALL character. That I know is a big thing to BB.

He is a turd and I'm not sure I can get passed it. Showing up, playing well and not being a douche (basically being the anti-Haynesworth) will go a long way toward me liking him.:coffee:
