Yeah BD I put that in the random news too. Only thing I can see its making news for is "OMGZFORMERPATSSTAFFERSCULTUREOFCHEATING"

From Rappaport: now reporting only ONE Patriots football from AFC title game was 2PSI below legal limit. 10 other footballs just "a tick" below.

And, gee whiz, I wonder if the ONE football was the ONE football that Mike Kensil took from Pagano that Jackson intercepted.

All of this for nothing.

And he's also reporting that it was an elderly man who brought the footballs in the bathroom for 98 seconds. Just long enough to change his Depends.

Come to think about it, has anyone seen RG lately?

What a cluster****. I can't believe the NFL allowed all this false reporting to continue. They made this story 100x worse by not shooting down any of the reports. I like how there is no report on ESPN about today's findings.

A network admit to their own incompetence?

Leadership of the league?

Fvcked up on so many levels.

I only hope BB and TFB unleash controlled fury over this news today.

Just what I thought all along, most of the footballs were just barely under the minimum with only 1 being 2 psi low. Weather caused them to lose pressure, not a ball boy. Apologies are due the Pats team, ownership and their fans. This was a witch hunt that went badly for the NFL.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...-investigation-of-patriots-deflated-footballs

Many of the footballs used in the AFC title game, which all have Walt Anderson's initials on them, were returned to circulation among the rest of the Patriots game-day footballs. Because Anderson was the referee for two other Patriots games this season, there are more than 30 footballs with his initials in the team's possession. It appears the league has the football D'Qwell Jackson intercepted and took to the sidelines to ultimately hand over to his equipment staff.

If true, this "investigation" is bordering on malicious. It's far worse than the malfeasance it simply appeared to be until this point. It's ridiculous.

Could this have been a staged planned presentation all along?

APerps trial kicking off this week. Possibly a wink-nod to divert attention from that collossal embarrassment to this "distraction" that just mushroomed and exploded far worse than they ever imagined?

Probably not. But the mishandling here seems to put past instances to shame.

Harbaugh just on NBC with Crotchas, apparently denying any knowledge or involvement in deflategate. Just caught the tail end where he said he didn't even think about teh Pats balls, just found out when everyone else did. Too little too late? :coffee:

WEll he DID defend Ray Rice and had to pretend he didn't mean it when he said the Pats basically should have their accomplishments questioned due to cameragate so he has 100% credibility.

For sure the damage has been done. I live in Dublin, Ireland and today while visiting my folks, they both asked what was going on with my team and these deflated footballs?!

My dad asked me are they cheating?

Bear in mind we're in Ireland and my folks wouldn't have a clue about football.

My dad is just back from visiting my sister in Australia and it was the 2nd or 3rd thing he asked me about when I picked him up at the airport - and he doesn't even know the name of the team (thought they were the New York Patriots), though he knew I supported them.
