This isn't the game I want to go into with o-line issues.

We're doooooomed.

:sulk:

Well it's good news that Slater was out there at all.

It looked as if that could have been really bad on Sunday

Looks like we will be seeing white as the 3rd down back. I save Lewis for Thursday night game against Miami . Chandler or Williams will be giving Fleming help .

FOXBORO -- The Patriots were missing four players from Thursday's practice, including three potentially key contributors in this weekend's matchup with the Jets: defensive end Jabaal Sheard, tackle Marcus Cannon and guard Shaq Mason. The Patriots were also missing Rufus Johnson at the session.

Sheard, who missed Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury that he suffered against the Colts, has been one of the best defensive players for the Patriots this season. He has played both on the edge -- his natural position -- as well as on the interior, and his presence has allowed the Patriots to give occasional breathers to Chandler Jones and Rob Ninkovich.

With four sacks and 14 quarterback hurries, Sheard has been one of the most consistent pass-rushers on the team this season. He's also been stout against the run, effectively setting the edge on a regular basis and funneling runners back toward the middle of the field.

If the Patriots are forced to go without him Sunday, they'll be without one of their best weapons to help negate a strong Jets rushing attack.

On the other side of the ball, the Patriots continue to be banged up on the offensive line. Cannon (toe) and Mason (knee) both missed Wednesday's practice.

If Cannon is unable to play on Sunday, the Patriots may turn to Cameron Fleming at right tackle, as they did when Cannon left Sunday's game hurt.

If Mason, the team's top option at left guard, can't go against the Jets, the Patriots have a few options. They could use Josh Kline at left guard, and then deploy rookie Tre' Jackson at right guard more regularly. Or the team could activate Ryan Wendell for the first time this season and have him help fill the void on the interior at either guard spot.

I go with Wendell at LG. I'm still not a big fan of kline going against good D-line. He was overpowered a lot last year .

No Sheard is going to be a big ****ing issue.

Ninkovich had better ****ing bring it this week.

The Jets caught us at a perfect time. We have serious holes due to the injuries. I expect Edelman to be a nonfactor due to his finger combined with Revis. GRonk will have to be let loose in this game. Our Defense will be tested big time in this one. Fitzpatrick is not that bad, and can play better than Luck at times... If the Jets dont beat us here then we will be very tough come playoff time...

If Revis locks on Edelman, I like Edelman in that matchup, because Revis doesn't have the fluidity to stick with him anymore (he hasn't for a while). Now, if they put Cromartie on him, there will be a problem. Cromartie can bully him at the line.

I think a big key will be his finger. I think it depends on how badly injured it is and how painful his injury is. He was pretty much a non factor last Sunday once he injured it and Tom Brady got his first interception because of it too.

LaFell has been activated. So if he plays, I think he gets Cromartie. No way Revis covers him. Edelman did say that he has never caught a pass when Revis is covering him, btw. So I think that's matchup that I would rather not see.

Skrine has also been cleared to play, so he could get Edelman/Amendola in the slot position.

Safe to say, it's going to be a difficult game for us, as far as I'm concerned.

I think it's the opposite. I think he gets Revis (if they don't try putting Revis on Gronk that is, and I wonder if we might see that some), and Cromartie's on Edelman. Cromartie can bully Edelman on the line better than Revis can, and I'm not sure Revis is quick enough to stay with him on crossing routes (it was the one thing he sucked on last year). Cromartie can.

Skrine on Amendola is a win for Amendola, and should be every time.

Cromartie doesn't have enough quickness for Edelman imo. Revis may not either but he'd be better on Edelman than Cro.

Out: T Marcus Cannon (toe), LB Rufus Johnson (illness), DE Jabaal Sheard
