Divisional Round - Chiefs at Patriots 1/16 4:35pm (CBS)

If Edelman is back and close to 100%, then they will put up at least 28 points on KC. And I don't think KC will put up 28 to match.

Maclin isn't playing in this game.

You won't need 28 to win. I bet 20 will get it done.

The Chiefs offense survives only via turnovers. If it doesn't get them, it won't score enough, period.

I'm not saying the offense is lights out, but they are certainly effective.

They're not effective at all if they don't get short fields. They are exactly what their 27th ranking says they are in that scenario. A plodding piece of shit.

This was borne out in multiple games this year, like against Chicago, San Diego and Cleveland.

...

3-41-1 against teams that score 24+ against you, is a big deal stat.

It's no accident that we've won 11 games in a row and the most an opponent scored during that stretch was 22.

Alex has won ONE game in his Chiefs career where the opponent scored 24 or more points.

This Chiefs team could have been the #1 seed, but Alex helped us drop back to back games where the Bears and Vikings scored 18 and 16.

He is just waiting for a team with a real QB to come along before he blows the game. He is absolutely terrible when playing from behind.

Rain is now in the forecast for the game and in the 30's temp wise

You should know that your 3-41-1 stat ended up on the radio today, so I hope it is legit. I think it is, because you seem legit and my 'net instincts are solid. Plus, I ran across this piece from March:

I made a note to run the numbers in the off-season, and guess what? It’s the off-season. Smith now holds a career record of 7-38-1 (including a 1-1 mark in the postseason) when his team1 allows 21 or more points. That’s really bad, as it turns out. In fact, among quarterbacks who started such a game last year, only Ryan Fitzpatrick (5-43-0) has a worse career record.

The author goes on to note the records of the best in history using the same metric for whatever that is worth. That would be Brady with a 60-46 mark (prior to 2015). And I actually thought it would be higher.

No.

That would be the anointing of Pey-Pey in his last big standoff and his partners the stripes with Blandino et al in the ear at home vs the hated Pats.

Would have to play a perfect game to overcome that.

But, at least we got to see the creative side of BB tasking Ebner instead of stomping Eagle dick down 14.

Oh, I meant the worst possible matchup THIS week.

Sorry for the confusion. :domORIGINAL:

Besides, I'm still on KC and refuse to consider any other doomsday scenarios until around 8PM Saturday night.

It's not only accurate, I invented it. I invented it for Matt Cassel several years ago, to expose him as the terrible QB he is.

So I just applied the same logic to Alex when he arrived.

Matt Cassel can't play dead in a Western.

Yes and I will FOREVER hate your franchise for hoodwinking the Chiefs into acquiring not only Pioli, but Cassel.

You can make amends for that by beating the shit out of our current fraud QB on Saturday. I've had enough of his little charade.

It's time for Alex to eat shit and get the ball rolling against him again. This team hasn't drafted a QB since 1983 and we've already wasted enough time on Alex with no real results. Our fans getting all excited over shitty little wild card berths and perpetually finishing in the bottom third of the league in offense is ****ing pathetisad.

You could become a Broncos fan.

What's "pathetisad" is that you can't enjoy the best Chiefs season in over two decades. So much so that you are openly rooting for him to fail and get hurt just to prove you are right.

You're no Chiefs fan. You're just a worthless ****ing troll.

I was thinking the same thing. How can you call yourself a team fan when you're hoping for failure?

This season is no different than 2010 or 2013. We just ran into Brian Hoyer instead of Joe Flacco or Andrew Luck.

Season ends Saturday.

If Maclin out. You going to stop kelce & west . There love hitting kelce over the middle . Dump & swing passes to west.

Because there's no way Alex Smith is ever taking this team anywhere meaningful. They won't win Saturday, and judging by the 2016 opponents they probably won't even make the playoffs next year.

I guarantee you beating Brian Hoyer in the playoffs is the high water mark of the Andy Reid era as long as Alex Smith is the QB.

The day this team actually drafts a QB is the day I begin to take them seriously.

This retread, checkdown, game manager running a bottom 1/3 offense bullshit never wins championships and never will. I tired of it years ago.

There are only 3 things that concern me entering this game

1. The fact that the Chiefs have won 11 in a row is nothing to sneeze at
2. They're a +20 in turnovers during that time frame
3. The Patriots OL. It has been a problem all season long. It was a problem against this same team last year.

I'm not saying last year's game will have any bearing on this one, but the Patriots OL hasn't been good at all this year. It just hasn't. I hope getting their full compliment of weapons back on offense will fix that, but it remains to be seen. The Patriots have turned the ball over in the red zone several times this season. They've also had some problems on special teams as well. I certainly don't expect KC to return the opening kickoff for a TD, but I don't want to see any mishandled punts by the Patriots. Turnovers are going to be the key to this game. That and field position. I'm not so much worried about them moving the ball on the Patriots D given what I saw on Saturday against Houston, but we shall see.

Interesting match up against a team that the Patriots hardly ever play. I fully expect the Patriots to win, especially at home in the playoffs. Coming off the bye week and coming in relatively healthy certainly are advantages. Factor in that it may be a cold, wind swept rain, and getting an early lead can go a long way in this one.

That nasty pass rush vs the O-line will be key to the game. Edelman & Amendola will just need to get quick separation. To nullify that pass rush.

Your basically your a Fairweather fan.

Yeah, a fairweather fan who attended the 2010 playoff game in person (despite the fact that I ****ing hate Matt Cassel) and has watched every ****ing game since I got the ticket in 2005. Sure.

No, I just don't agree with the direction of the franchise. It was doomed before it started this season and will always be as long as they try to keep doing dumb things like trading for game managers.

Your won 11 straight game after starting 1-5. That one hell of a turn around . Thanks to your defense . How can you not be happy about it.
