WEEK 12 · Cardinals at Patriots -Sun 11/29 · 1:00 PM EST

Bill really needs to go to Stidham. I mean how much worse can it be? Newton tried every way possible to give that game away with the defense playing amazing and the STs totally dominating. We have just about the worst QB play of any team other than the Jets.

How much worse can it be? Well, instead of 5-6 and still having an outside chance of making the playoffs, we could be 0-11.

We're a team with some glaring holes, who went all in contractually to win a 6th ring and that worked but there was a heavy price to pay. We transitioned away from the best QB of all time, but he isn't the best anymore, nor really all that close and every journey has it's end. Please spare me the rebuttal, because I'm familiar with your views on the topic. I think by now we all pretty much are.

We're in a rebuilding year, clearly. We have some major holes and some young pieces to build with. We're going into the offseason with a large amount of money to spend and many of the teams winning now will have to cut talented guys at unprecedented level due to the reduced cap next year. We have a scrappy, disciplined, well-coached team that doesn't have enough good players to compete for silver this year, but appear to be working hard and fighting. Nobody is quitting out there, which would be a lot worse to me.

Cam is frustrating as hell to watch, but as Bill said, he threw for 385 last week. Maybe there is yet hope. I'm still a Stidham believer, but I was also a N'Keal Harry hopeful until yesterday so maybe I'm wrong about him, too. I think we're going to ride or die with Newton and we'll just have to live with that for now. A move at the position is still possible, but probably not while we're still alive.

Yeah, there is no point at this stage going with Stidham for the rest of the season. We're into December and while we still have the outside chance of making the playoffs, we should stick with Cam for now and for the rest of the season and see how we do. There is a strong chance that Cam will be gone at the end of the season. So Stid can then get a full preseason and TC in when we're in a hopefully, post-Covid world.

There is a chance of course that the Pats keep Newton, if he plays well to close out the season it's possible and Bill and Josh seem to like the guy and might feel with a proper full season, they can improve his play. Who knows. But the likelihood is he will be gone and Bill will settle on Stid unless a very good QB can be picked up in the draft. I don't think there is any real choices in FA.

FA is still an unknown at the moment, but the smart people are saying that there should be much better options at QB than there has been in a while for a couple of reasons. The talent at the position across the league is better than it's been in quite a while with a long of young, ascending talents. Look at the money the Bears spent on Nick Foles or the Vikes on Kirk Cousins recently. They both paid franchise money for guys with very few skins on the wall, because there weren't any options at the time. Some of the names being tossed around are Dak Prescott, DeShaun Watson, Phillip Rivers, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Taysom Hill, Jimmy G. and plenty more guys that have had some success. It should be pretty wild, particularly since there are approximately 5 or 6 guys coming out that somebody could view as a potential franchise.

Watson would be tops on the wish list to me. He was unbelievable last week against us. It isn't his fault that his organization is dysfunctional.

i love Vinovich, ever since he rolled his eyes at Jules in the 2014 divisionals vs balt. that's one of my fave pats games ever, still.
i also breathe a sigh of relief when it's NOT boger. i knew last night would be jacked up when i saw he was the ref.
He really wanted the Cards to win yesterday...

Watching PTI while on the tread mill. ne talk head talked about how Arizona got screwed on that call. They may have. But how could he say ONLY That after they took a legit Pats TD of the board on a call that was worse?

The flag on the Gunner TD on the special teams play that was BS screwed the Pats...Jennings block?

The Patriots have a 6% shot of making the playoffs. So why is 0-11 (which they wouldnt be) be worse? AS far as Brady. I am going on a limb and say that the plan was not to transition from Brady to Cam. Pretty sure that was not the BB plan, it just happened that way. AS far as Brady again, he is 4th in tds and 4th in passing yards at 43. I know you like to take your jabs at Brady when you can, but lets not use that as a reason he left, because its not.

Yeah I dont know. I do wish the refs would have said it was a helmet to helmet or something because people are just saying he was not out of bounds when he was hit and that might not be what they called.

Shaggy would have been the next best thing since Brady...
I mean...ok, we will see, but I dont get this notion that somehow going 6-10 or 7-9 is somehow better, its not, you didnt make the playoffs and all you got was a worst draft pick. I think the theory I had was correct in that
Cam and the pats have a deal where he will play no matter what so he can showcase whatever to get a job next year, and since it was a down year they did it, which is why he took so much less. I am pretty sure its not his amazing season that is keeping him as a starter or that they think they are going to make the playoffs.

WTF? I was ALL in favor for tanking this year. 100%. I never, ever wanted Scam in NE. He is doing exactly what I never, ever wanted. An 8-8 year. This zone is called "the abyss". You don't go to the playoffs. You don't get a prime choice for the top QB's. It's the worst possible scenario.

lol, Yeah I know I was agreeing with you. I said before the season, you have to find out what you have in your young Qb, it was pointless to play Cam. Now we are in the same spot next year, still dont know what we have at QB. I said we will see on what your shaggy boy turns into.

Where are the jabs to make you ferociously defend Brady?

I’m not a big fan of calling Cam scam.

I wish Brady was still here, but it’s not Cams fault. I think he’s done a good job with what he’s got. He’s really exceeded my expectations, he’s a great bridge QB.

That does not change the fact that they need to get the QB of the future in the pipeline this off-season.
With this roster though what QB could do better?

I will ask again...what were your expectations? With this roster? This is pretty much the same offense we had last year minus Byrd and Harris running over people. So what Qb could do better than 4 td's and 9 ints in 10 games? I could name probably 20. As far as Brady still being here, no, I am ok with him going. Not because I dislike him, but because he still wants to play football, and if he stayed he would be trying to help rebuild a team, and that is not what you want to do at 43.
